I am having trouble with 3g in redcar (TS10) it connects fine but just doesn't receive any data. Vodafone claim they are having a problem at the moment but I am not sure I believe them and wonder if it's my handset. Can anyone confirm anything?

To add I have full 3G signal strength according to my handset which is nokia n73, please can someone help me.

Hi Peter_reed

There are problems recorded in Redcar at the moment. If you think it's your handset, try putting the SIM into another 3G handset then access which ever sites you are trying to get onto. If your able to, you know your N73 is faulty and has not been affected by the data problems in your area. If your not able to, you'll know it's just the network problems.

If you're not able to get access to another phone, your local Vodafone store (http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_Help_StoreLocator&pageID=SL_0001)will be able to assist you. If it is your handset, the problem will occur where ever you go, so the test will still be a valid one.

Hope this helps

The only information I have is that there is problems recieving data on the 3G network in Redcar I'm afraid (currently not in the office, visiting my dad in London).

Have you tried putting you phone onto GSM only? The data transfer will be a lot slower but should get you a connection

GSM does work that is correct but I have the mobile TV and want to watch the cricket. Paying for a service that did work and now doesn't.

Got a replacement handset and new sim card sent today but still the same problem, can someone please shed some light on this as it worked for the first couple of days I had it. I watched streaming live cricket and now I can't even load pages with 3g.

It would seem to me as if its a network fault rather than a handset fault, has anyone else in your area had the same problem or is it just yourself ?, If it is a network fault we are probably aware of it and it will be fixed asap, but your probably better giving customer service a call 08700700191 or 191 from your handset just letting them know and they can do a search in your area
