View Full Version : Does £8 unlimited Orange World bundle exist?

There's been a lot of people say on this site the last couple of weeks that tucked away on a CS promotions screen is an offer for unlimited Orange World access on your phone (both peak and off-peak) for just £8 a month (inc. VAT). However, I have not been able to speak to anyone in CS who can find this, nor can my Orange Shop find any mention of it.
Has anyone got it here? How did you get it? How do I get it? Are there any particular tariffs/plans the offer applies to ?
Thanks :)

I have the package, its called Orange world browsing. I have just spoken to a Prem C/S rep who said it can still still be added on to accounts. It costs £8.00pm for 1000mb.

I may be wrong but I think it can be used for any data useage.

It can be used for all data usage (but is subject to a fair use policy, which may exclude certain activities such as MSN - but they're not going to notice MSN...)
Anyway, yes it does exist, it apparently has a very similar name to the other £8 a month bundle which only gives you 10MB. It is listed as excluding VAT which is about £6.80 or something.
Anyway, it is only available for certain customers. The computer said it was incompatable with my Select 500 service plan. (that will be rectified when i call retentions for my N95...... i hope.... lol)

So its not available to 'new' customers then ? I was with Orange from 1998 - 2006 (never got so much as a whiff of a special offer - everything was aimed at new customers). I may come back now but cant get something that 3 and T-Mobile are offering their customers.

Well existing customers can have either special offers from retentions, or they can have one of the animal tarrifs that the new customers can have.
The unlimited data bundle only seems compatable with certain tarrifs. I don't know which ones, but probably the high spending ones.

Im a new customer on the Dolphin £35/ month.
There was no mention of an £8/month peak and off peak browsing in the Orange magazine, also the shop never mentioned this £8/month deal either. It sounds similiar to the £7.50/month web n walk deal.
Anyhow I have 2 months unlimited off-peak Orangeworld use, then I'm automatically charged an additional £5/month, unless I decide to ring Customer Services to ask them to cancel Orangeworld.
Also I've rang Customer Services about 3 times, they seemed a little confused at first, but eventually they confirmed that with Orangeworld the visit of any external sites from 7pm to 7am during the week and anyime during the weekend is included in the costs.
They said you cant download, use the phone as a modem or use instant messaging. However I think as long as you stay well below the 1000 meg fair usuage policy Im sure you wont have any problem.

Yes, that exactly the principle I am taking, and so far no problems.
I'm sure the £8 unlimited bundle will eventually make its way into the main stream. At the moment it appears to be just for the select lucky few. lol.
Tbh, at the moment, the off-peak one suits me quite well anyway.

I was talking to the Prem C/S dept a while ago and was told that the unlimited bundel was a limited time special for Prem customers. I think you can only get it at the moment if you go to retentions or have a high spend tarrif and the C/S rep knowes what they are looking for. When I upgraded a couple of weeks ago I had to tell C/S what package to look for as they had not heard of it.

Could i ask you spend please, if its not too cheeky?

I asked retention when i upgraded to the N95, and apparently all data bundles have been removed from their system. as in they cant offer them as perks.

im sorry but the OWA has been availiable to new and old customers. In the last two weeks there has been some serious server problems at orange and some of the information services used withing orange are getting updated so maybe thats how they havent been able to tell u anything. And £8 for 100mbs that DOESNT exist. Its 25mbs per month. And the 2 months free is called a try services and is actualy limited to 4mbs per night not unlimited.

Think you are getting confused here!
No, there isnt a 100mb bundle.
The £8 bundle is capped at 30mbs (not 25) - any use over the monthly 30mb is then capped at a daily rate. This means that if you use up the 30mbs before the month has finished any other usage would cost you a maximum of £1.50 each day.
Yes there is a 2mnths free trial of the evening and weekend Orange World (this can be added if not had before or it gets put on automatically at each new connection of package change) This is UNLIMITED evening and weekend usage. If you carry on with the bundle after the free trial the cost is £5 per month. it is not capped at 4mb per night at any time
The 4mb mentioned was the old £4 per month bundle which was for 4mb.
this is no longer available and there is nothing at all that relates to 4mb usage day or evenings at all now.

I spoke to a CS agent today from Orange and she said she could offer me unlimited usage for £5 a month. I need to investigate more but it looks promising.

A word of warning for everyone who has the £8.00 per month unlimited data pack. Not sure if Orange have recently changed their policy or not, If you go to your account on the new Orange world page most of the £8.00 packs now have a end date on them. Have checked with a couple of friends toady and their tarrifs finish around April next year. You may be able to get them extended but you will have to contact C/S to see if they can help you.

Was adding OW Unlimited bundles for £8 today and they don't have an end date, as such, just the usual never-ending indicator.

Are you saying that an £8 unlimited bundle does exist? I've called 150 a few times hoping to get it, and they only offer the 30Mb a month deal.
How can I get the unlimited deal?
Please!

Yes just to confirm I was talking about the Old £8.00 data tarrif (1000mb FUP). On my friends accounts it said 15/4/08 or 27/3/08. On my account it did say May next year but this has now been changed to never ending. It was the end date which I had not seen before which caused me a lot of problems last week (now resolved).

It is called Unlimited in one of our systems, but is subject to fair use.
Put simply, we have the Unlimited Evening and Weekend bundle for £5 a month, the Unlimited Anytime Bundle for £8 a month and the Unlimited OW Access for £1 a day. They're the 3 bundles we have, and to tie them together, they've all been called Unlimited, but are all subject to FUPs.
The one I referred to as Unlimited for £8 is the 30Mb version (because the "30Mb for £8 bundle" is more of a meal than "Unlimited".
Asked my team leader about a true unlimited offer and he said he knows nothing about there being another refresh of the OW bundles so soon after this one (that's not to say there won't be, but we don't know there for definite either).
If we do hear anything, we'll be sure to let you know, of course.

Old Bill, not sure if you were aware, but there has been some major updates happening with Your Account over the last week or so, and that could have been the cause of the date change. Glad to hear it's all sorted now.

In a reply to another post of mine csrs Are Human said
"Sorry I cant be more positive than that, exept to say that they have said there will be a truly unlimited data bundle out 'near end of summer' but they havent told us any more details than that at present.
k"
So there is a chance of a new bundle coming out ?
