N95 Gaming!

Does any one know what type of games the N95 will have? with better graphics and more power, i hope they don't give us the sub standard games what every other mobile phone has...

If i'm honest, nothing really works on a phone quite as well as Snake. A simple game, but something the simple things in life provide the most pleasure ie a hand.

Hehe, the phone has a 3D accelerator built in and is capable of near console quality graphics, yet a thread about N95 games boils down to talking about card games and Sudoku :D

I know exactly what you mean though, my staple game to waste 5 minutes on my N70 is a freeware version of Yahtzee.

Regarding Sudoku, have a look at the freeware section of AllAboutSymbian as Im sure I saw a Sudoku game listed in there for S60 v3.

just the thought of being able to play a game like NFS carbon or ghost recon the way it's meant to be played.. i normally go for a games like tetris due to the poor game play and graphics on mobile gaming... sometimes i miss my old N-gage :)

Having played the demo of system rush, i can't seem to find a game which can match the graphics and quality of this game. can anyone recommend good quality games for the N95? all i can find is the standard games which play on all handsets...

I have seen one game, very similar to say Tekken. And the graphics were quite breathtaking to say the least.

I dont know if i really like the new version of snake. i mean it's just "tooo" 3D for me!I mean What happened to playing snake on a small black and ,well not really white there was only black, screen!though I have to admit it does look great!!It is actualy really fun playing System Rush on your TV!!

Oh sorry, well my last phone was an N91 which doesnt come with any games!!So I downloaded snake from the nokia website and it was still 2D!! But did you ever play the original snake??

I like all versions of snake that Nokia have made. Right from snake 1, 2 and now 3D :)

I'm still trying understand system rush, from what i can tell it's a bit like wipeout? try not to get hit by anything and follow the lights. not sure if there is a fire button somewhere?

From what I can gather, there's no fire button as such. You need to follow the green dots on the track as best you can to gain speed, and then when you see one of the purple ships, tuck in behind it and your guns will automatically fire and destroy it after about 5-10 seconds, you get a time bonus for doing that then you go after another ship, all whilst avoiding the other ships which fire lasers back at you.

I think on the first level you need to destroy three ships, but having said all that I still havent got past the first level either :D

ohhh well... system rush looks great when your N95 in connected to the TV when your showing off to your mates :)

you can't go wrong with titris... It was hardwork playing sonic on the N80, but the N95 is far better design for game play...

im up to level 23 and have searched this forum for help but can't find anything on the web to get me past this level, its really annoying me now!!

Also, for anyone looking for good games, Infinite Dreams makes what's in my opinion some of the best games for Series60 out there at the moment - try SkyForce, SkyForce Reloaded and K-Rally (not free unfortunately, but definitely worth the money). SkyForce Reloaded and K-Rally don't have playable demos unfortunately, but you can check out some ingame videos on the site.

NES games work perfectly with sound; many SNES games can't be emulated in real time with sound, but I'm not too bothered with that; haven't tried their gameboy emulator, but I used to run a different GB emulator for my N70 (SuperGoBoy, not v9.1 compatible) and didn't have any speed issues at all.

Playing Lufia II on the SNES emulator on the way to/from work at the moment, so addictive! It drains the battery reasonably fast though - I can get about 4 hours playing with sound before the low battery warning comes on.

That mobile rated site is ok but the games are funded by adverts and they expect your phone to give the game network access to download adverts :cheeky:

if you check out the ngage website it tells you that system rush evo is a demo version installed on the phones now, there will be a fire button in the final version :D you have to follow the lights and catch the ship thingy in the demo :D

by the way, there is a wicked way of seeing what the n95 can do 3d wise...check out this free benchmarking program - install to your phone and watch the graphics chip go!!! bring on the new ngage games, i say. Very, very nice.

Well I've got NFS Carbon and it's quite crap to be honest since the N95 isn't capable of rendering the map quick enough for such a fast paced game. It looks good for a phone, but it's like trying to play a new pc game on your old pc - it's sluggish and there's nothing you can do about it.

I thought rather than just give you the answer I would give you a clue. Let me know if it's enough.

I was also stuck for ages. My thought process when I solved it was:

I wonder if those swirly things I pick up are important....

Maybe I have to do something with them...

Maybe there is another key I have not used yet...

Maybe I should check the game instructions for other keys....

I've been browsing the forum history but so far unable to find a solution for the following questions. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated:

I have an Apple Intel 'Leopard' Imac and I am unable to download the Nokia firmware to update my phone, as sadly it seems that I would need a PC to run the updater.

Is there anyway I can update my phone firmware using my Imac?

I would dearly love to download a soccer game onto my Imac - a good one such as Pro Evo or Fifa - and then transfer the game onto my Imac. Any tips/links about how I might be able to do this please?

Again, I'd love to hear any of your ideas.

Hi there,
unfortunately you can not directly update the firmware on a mac, but since you've got an intel mac why don't you install Paralles Desktop or VMware Fusion and run windows on your mac. That's how i did it and it works a treat. As far as games go, just pair your phone with your mac and bluetooth the .sis file to your nokia, it arrives as a message and when you open the message it lets you install the file. Hope this helps
