Went into Vodafone about a month ago, they said they couldn't unlock my phone even if I paid...
so, I looked elsewhere, I went to a website called unlocktelecom.co.uk and asked if they could unlock it...
They emailed me saying no, but gave me 2 different codes to try. I entered them and immediately, I could no longer use my phone.
It said something like Sim unavailable or something like that, I rang vodafone and they said my phone is blacklisted for being stolen...WTF.
I've had this phone around 6 months now, and I dont think it's a coinsidence that it got blocked when I entered the codes...
I have proof I paid for the phone, and yet they say there's nothing they can do...
HELP!!!!! please :(
Where did you buy the phone, and was it bought second hand?
What can happen is that some one sells a phone, say as a unwanted upgrade then a few weeks or so later reports it lost or stolen. The phone then gets black listed, the person who sold you the phone has got your money and then claim off their insurance and also gets a replacement phone.
Do you have the details of the person who sold you the phone?

ebay £190, not sure if i still have those details though, the guy is no longer a registered user, but surely that isn't fair. They can't do that if I have proof I bought it can they? :( Im just really upset that this has happened.
The network will bar the phone as the registered owner has reported the phone lost or stolen. The network possibly wont take your word that you bought it evan though you have a receipt.
You are correct it is not fair for you, and like you I got scammed I was taken for £250-00. As a result I no longer buy certain things on ebay like expensive phones.
You need to find the ebay details and report it to ebay. if you have paid via paypal check their terms and conditions to see if you can file a claim.
There is an option to find the sellers details on ebay, but if they are no longer registered these details might not be correct or available.
You could also report this to the police as the seller could have committed fraud. On this I don't know where you stand with the phone and getting the police involved, it could be worth a discrete enquiry with them.
When I got scammed on ebay, I found they were of no help and evan the police were not interested. In the end I took the person to the small claims court and won the case. As the seller did not pay up, I had the pleasure of sending in the bailiffs to collect my money. In the end the seller had to refund my money + court costs + the bailiffs fees, I was lucky that I did get my money back. After I won the case the police contacted me and asked why I did not report this to them, I said I did but you were not interested.

I think the guy I bought the phone from works for vodafone. His email ends in, @vodafone.net
What should I do? I emailed him asking to help me resolve this matter but I no longer use ebay so closed the account, along with my paypal account.
Should I maybe contact vodafone? Or what?
Any one can have a vodafone.net email address, I think I have one under most network names as I have sims on most of the networks.
As to what you can do I not sure what the best way forward in your case. If you don't know the sellers address or cant get it from ebay or if the seller has also closed their paypal account and you paid via paypal I don't think they can recover your money from the sellers closed account.
I took the option of the small claims court (which you can do on line) as I paid by cheque but this can be a gamble and I was lucky I had the sellers address.

Hi,
As pav says, vodafone.net accounts are the email addresses provided as part of the Vodafone Mail service and can be set up by any Vodafone customers. Internal Vodafone emails would fall under .com and co.uk. Other than that it looks an eBay / PayPal seller issue, I've had a couple myself with PayPal over the years (non-mobile related). Can't really add to anything pav mentions. sorry :(

An idea, why don't you report his activity to voda, if he is an individual customer he will be breaking th T&C of his contract. If he is an affiliate he will be in big trouble with voda.
If I were you I would ring voda, explain his activities and I'm sure they will investigate. It may not help you but my avoid others from the same problem you have encountered

I would have to say NO you can not post their ebay user name.
He sells ONLY vodafone phones not sure what to say to him :(
If you are going to email the seller one option would do a polite email to the seller giving them all the facts you know and say what vodafone have said to you, and does he know anything about the problem and can he help in any way clear the problem up.
Its only an idea, but sometimes a polite email works.
