looking at different web blogs and reviews it looks like nokia have deliberatley put a n70 cd and a 6680 manual because the units are review units so poss stops these people putting them on ebay for a extorionate amounts

Maybe you're right there gazza, but it's my sense of humour I just find it very funny..............

I don't see how a different CD or manual would stop someone selling on eBay. The manual is not that important to a power user that would buy it for a high price, or the software can be downloaded from the Nokia website anyway.

Surely to stop it selling on eBay they should not include, err, the phone!

Because it is a pre-production model, it is most likely that they put an n70 cd and a 6680 manual because the originals are not in production yet so the cant send them, soy they just put what is closest to it. If you have read other reviews of the pre-production models from bloggers and forumers that recieve them, they also get them with the n70 cd and a 6680, such as darla mack

I doubt thats the case. The N70 and 6680 both run on symbian s60 2nd edition, whereas the N95 runs on 3rd edition (3.1). If they were to put any instructions in because of that, then they would have put something like the N73 in, which would be alot closer to how the N95 runs then the 6680.

Prety sure that is much closer to the real reason than "they made a mistake" or "to prevent ebay sales". Maybe the n70 cds and a 6680 manuals were more accesible than the N73s'.

Have to say, im sure more people would rather have no manual then a useless 6680 manual. And to be honest, it makes nokia look pretty dam dumb aswell haha. Most people that get the pre-production model probably wouldnt need the manual anyway.

It's just to show how the final product would look like. For what you are saying, they might as well just have sent the phone and a charger cellophane wrapped.

No im just saying that the majority of people (probably all) that got the pre-production models through would be just as happy with no manual at all then with a 6680.

For anyone that actually wants or needs the N95 manual, its here: http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=51920

I really don't see the problem. Nokia wanted to show what the final package would look like - to do that they needed to include a manual and CD. As the N95 one's aren't available they used the older ones which they will have a surplus of to get rid of. No point in sending N73 one's as that will still be around on sale for longer.

I agree, and I don't think it makes nokia look pretty dam dumb

why give out a proper sales package when you know its gonna be sold on well known auction site.

actually, im not sure that they will be given to keep. Often with review phones and pre-production phones they send them out for around a week or 2, and then you have to send them back to nokia who then send it on to other people. I should think this is the case with most N95s.

Have just watched the video.....priceless, the bit where stevie-boy fails to comment on having the wrong instructions but does spot the language problem he has. Felt sorry for the lad, but secretly pleased it isn't just me who has to put up with this sort of rank stupidity!

HOWEVER and this is a major issue and I'm shocked you haven't mentioned it bjh....where is the WRIST STRAP? How dare they miss this....could see me moving to LG! LOL

I should think this is the case with most N95s.Quite right Nokia will send out pre-prodution phones to people in the industry,Nokia will make it quite clear that the phone will have to be returned within a specified period or you will incurr a huge charge ( ok so what some of you may ask) but it's not actually about the cost of the handset, it's about reviewers etc being able to hold of preview products, just ask yourself where any Mobile mag would be without any access to samples.
(think longterm)

Seems to me that the battery supplied with the N95 will not produce he power that the power user will need without charging daily... anyone know if a larger battery will be available?
Nokia need to be thinking more about this little marvel and the power requirements especially as they ae advertising this as what computers have become.

Lets take bets now how many "my N95 battery" threads we get once this is released. I got bored of them for the N80 and I will do again for the N95. Yes it's power hungary, yes the battery is not powerful enough. Answer: Charge it everyday. I really don't see the problem with putting it on charge over night!!!!!

You mention it is what computers have become... but laptop batteries last even less time than the N95's...

Sorry, but threads about batteries really annoy me :dead: lol

Yes, this is true, but there is just no reason why nokia dont make the batteries more powerful. The Battery on the N73 is more powerful then both the N80 and N95, so they dont really have a reason to make it less powerful then that. Yes, its true that a laptops dont last as long as phones, but at the end of the day, phones use alot less power having to power a smaller screen, and less components.

Suprisingly, the phone that ive had with the best battery life is the Sagem MYX7. The battery lasted over a week with moderate use, and maybe 5 days with high use, and thats kept on overnight!

I know that the phone has alot of functions and needs alot of power, but the simple thing to that would be simply to include a higher capacity battery. I have to say, the battery on my N73 is great. Ive sent about 15 texts and made about 45-an hour of calls off it over the past 24-48 hours, aswell as browsing the web for about 30 mins on it yesterday. It stayed on all night and all yesterday and today, and its only gone down 2 bars. Very impressed.

I think if you stick to things like texting, calls and a few pics then your battery will last longer. But WIFI/GPS usage will obviously drain it fast.

Im suddenly back on he N95 fix again. hehe

exactly like me!!

Although I did have an idea last night that would be useful for the N95.
You see the camera buttons now light up - but I think the charger socket should light up - as I normally put it on charge after I turn the light off! lol.
