Anyone know when T-Mobile will have an Expresscard available? Just bought a new Dell and got caught out with the new slot.
TIA

T-Mobile don't seem to know either. Being an impatient sod I took the sim from the original datacard and slid it into a Novatel Merlin XU870 bought from expansys for £230 and it works like a charm in a MacBook Pro.

JFYI - I've seen one today..... they DO exist.
It came with a Sony laptop from PC World.... the person who showed it me had placed Vodafones firmware on to use their service.
If I'd thought of it I would have took a photo - except after reading this and him saying he'd had it a while I was a bit stunned.
So - go down to PC World - they exist.

EDIT - Just found this on Ebay

Thanks guys,
T-Mobile said that they didn't have one but also that they had no idea when one might be available. I'll zoom into PC Worls asap and check it out.
I know the Merlin card is available but £250 is a bit pricey!

Dell and Vodafone struck a deal for those cards, HO are looking into it but I guess we all have to sit tight and wait for its release

i work for t-mobile and they have 2 types of data card, the compact 2 and the usb version. the compact 2 is vista compatible for those that need to know as is the usb version. Only the usb version is mac compatible. I am sorry to hear someone was caught out buying a card only to find it wasn't compatible with their laptop due to having an express slot. Any sales assistant worth their salt would have asked which brand of laptop the customer has, but this time clearly that's not happened.
