Hi,
Can someone please help me! I ordered a p990 today from Orange direct sales and gave all my details ect for credit check and direct debit. All I got at the end of the call was a tracking number for the phone when it is sent?
Is that all I get? Also the nice lady at Orange arranged delivery as fast as possible, however this is for Tuesday. I explained I would be at work and asked if I could have it delivered there but apparently not?
So my questions are
Should I have been given something other than a tracking number for parceline.
Should it have been possible to deliver to my work?
If I am not home (no chance as I live 15 miles away from work!!!) where will my parcel go?
If any orange csr's can help that would be top! :D
Although I am not a csr, the last time time I ordered a phone direct from orange I was just given a referance number.
1, from the referance number orange can track the staus of your order, ie if there is a delay or when it is due for delivery.
2. I have never been given a parcel tracking number, as the referance number should be all you need.
3. I have always had my phones delivered elseware when I have ordered direct from orange. This option is availiable as well on the orange web site. Unless orange direct have changed this recentely, evan when taking out a new contract on a new account without making referance to my existing account.
4. The delivery people will do several options if you are not at home.
a. leave the phone with a neighbour and leave you a card saying were it was delivered to.
b. leave a card saying that they were unable to deliver and please to contact them to re-arrange delivery, the card will have a referance number on it.
You then phone up the delivery people and you can either arrange to collect the phone from your loacal depot. Or arange delivery to a neighbour, or you can arrange delivery to a covienent place, which I think should be in their delivery area ie your place of work. You might will need some proof of id and the card they left, if delivered to your place of work.

Thanks Pav,
I was sure that they would deliver to an alternative address as I was an Orange customer a few years back! And I know loads of people at work that have care replacements delivered to reception!
Oh well called them this morning and because it is already in the system they cannot try to send it to work.
It just means that I will take Wed as my day off so I can collect from depot and have a play (ALL DAY!) :D
I have slated Orange in the past after many happy years with them, however the Panther deal is too good to refuse!
Unlimited texts and browsing and a magic number! wow! and the P990i that 3 dont have. To be fair the Orange phone will be for work and my 3 one for personal use, having said that I could always ditch 3 if the service I get from Orange is better this time round and have line 2.
Funny how quickly customers forget how they were treated. I said I would never use Orange again and to be fair I have been away for 4 years or so. I just hope the experience has improved. Starting with the delivery!:D

Hi Guys
Once again Pav has got it spot on!! sure he was an Orange CSR in a previous life!
I think the option to have it delivered to any other address but the registered address on a brand new registration has recently been removed, something to do with account security as it double checks that the person ringing in and the householder are one and the same!
Welcom back Marlin, hope you will be very happy this time around, and being on the Panther means you will be routed to the 'premier' team, you may even get me one day!!

Yes, I am a Premier csr, although take all other call types too when other queues get really busy, so an 'all rounder'!
No Info yet on the SPV M700 i'm afraid Malkav, not showing yet in the 'review' section, but will keep hunting it down and let you know if we get any details on a release date. SE M600i is out now, not heard much about it yet, either good or bad!
Marlin, the cash back offers on 'trade-in' handsets is for retail only i'm afraid, but yes, there is still the 'member get member' thing going. pick up a recomendation form from any Orange Dealer for a mate to fill in if being set up in retail. They will do it on sales over the phone, but the new conection must give your details - mobile number, name and address at time of the order.

Just collected my P990 from Parceline. Looks a bit battered, if there is an issue with the handset (box has sustained heavy damage!) can I exchange in an Orange shop???
Regards
Marlin
Ps do they still offer 14 day money back? No intention of returning just interested as no info on website.

I know people knock Orange, But I have allways found the premier staff fantastic. Over my time with Orange I would think I have just about spoken to every Premier member of staff and they have allways given 100%

Hi Marlin,
Give the phone a ruddy good check over and thorough testing!!! yes you have the 14 day money back to cancel the connection ect. but that just means cancelling it all. you cant swap it in an Orange dealers i'm afraid. If the phone seems 'dodgy' or looks like its used or is damaged in any way, call into premier team and they will arrange a brand new boxed handset to be sent by courier the next day, taking the duff one away with him/her. but hopefully all is well with it! still worth feeding back though as is worrying that equipment is being delivered in that kind of state, it is always thoroughly checked when leaves our depot.
Hi Bill, thanks for your kind comments on the Premier team. We are all based in one call centre so all know each other, good to know we doing something right!!

thanks for the advice! I have checked it and all seems ok. Superb handset and services so far, Orange 3g signal is not as good as 3 in my area but cant complain! Just out of interest when it boots up the logo looks out of focus, is this the same on all P990's (may be to do with screen resoloution) Overall very pleased! Well done Orange!
