Anyone heard about this? Apparently its true, but didnt want to post in the nokia section and get everyone worked up and then it was on scedule haha.
I think that only applies to the North American variant, not ours. I can't wait for this phone to come out - I'm going to cancel one of my 10 yearly holidays so I can afford to buy it hehe

Sounds like Nokias usual tricks to me. I think if any territory will experience delays it will be where the phone is first set to arrive and that is Asia, im sure the European launch being a few months later will infact be on time. Although in light of Nokias recent handling of nw phones and software issues id prefer the phone to be a month or 2 late and be bug free. The endless moans of the n80, n73 and n93 have almost completly put me of Nokia but hoepfully they can redem themselves with the n95.

The press overhere says we should expect the n95 before the end of the year. I have one on pre-order, so I will let you now when it arrives.

Where abouts are you? I doubt you will get one before the end of the year. Nokia have said Q1 worldwide, so I very highly doubt anyone will get their hands on a final version of it before Febuary.

Just on the other side of the North Sea :-) The Netherlands.
I will try to find the source of that message. Hold on.

Well I got my hands on a working n95 test model. Itīs my friendīs that works at nokia. He says 1st quarter for sure, probably right after new years(?)
The Proīs
Itīs really light weight.
Screen is amazing!
Cameraīs nice.
Didnīt try video, sorry.
Conīs
Construction is completely plastic-like.
Keypad like n80īs slide-out isnīt very comfortable (to me..), but works well.
No "real" flash.
And a final note. While at a country cottage last weekend it tilted when another buddy carried his own phone, n95 and a bottle of beer in the same hand. It wasnīt soaked but after some plus nav key died. And the enhancement window popped up every few seconds for no reason. Imagine a walk from the car 20 meters to the door could cripple a phone. That buddyīs in the dog house!:devious:
Up to that point though it was fun to mess around with.:)

Shame to hear about the slider. From the videos ive seen so far on the n95 the slider looks alot more solid and 'clicky' than the n80. Especially given that it has to slide 2 ways.

Regardless of how innovative and good the N95 is going to be, if its like the N73 with the plasticky, creaky and flimsy casing, I'll pass up. Nothing like carrying a phone resembling a toddler's toyphone that creaks and cracks.

Actually, the slider is sturdy and clicks into place well in both directions. The overall "depth" of the keypad made it uncomfortable to text, but Iīm sure itīs easy to get used to.
The media side of the slider is nice but pretty small. And nav keys get used too while surfing. So, with some apps n95 can be considered a "2 handed" device.
Iīve had n93 for a few months. That took a while to get used to, also. All the "nīs" are heavy, especially mine. Now I canīt live without it! Will I trade it in for n95? Hard to say. Itīs like a plastic tinker toy that weighs and feels the same as a tv remote, but real.
