Hi Katie,
Just wondering, is your handset over twelve months old? If that's the case then Vodafone would be able to unlock it for free, otherwise like you say there is a fee of £19.99.
Customer Services can check how old the handset is for you if you're unsure, just go to www.vodafone.co.uk, select 'contact us' then 'email'.
You'd just need to give customer services your IMEI number so that they can check, if you need to find this out you can get it by entering * # 0 6 # into your phone and pressing send (it brings up a fifteen digit number)

Hi, does that work the same with a W900i because mine has only come up with 9 numbers???
Thanks in advance

Hi Lynn,
I'm using a W900i myself, the * # 06 # should bring up the word 'IMEI' and then the 15 digit code, I've not heard of it generating only nine digits before. Another way you can find out your IMEI is to take off the back panel and removing the battery. You should have a label inside the phone with the IMEI number printed inside starting with a 3. On mine this appears directly under the bar-code on the label

if you're on a contract calls to 191 are free of charge to make. On pay as you talk there's a one off 25p charge to connect to an adviser.

Hi andy67531
You can request an unlocking code for your handset at any time, the only difference is if you have had it for less than 12mths, it will cost £19.99. After the 12mths, the code is free of charge.
If you want uus to obtain your code for you, if you go to www.vodafone.co.uk, then contact us, you can send us an email. If you include FIT135 in the body of the text, it will be picked up by a team who monitor the public forums and will be able to help. You need to include your mobile number, your IMEI, and the make and model of your handset.
Hope this helps
