To set up MMS (picture messaging) and GPRS (internet access) you need a combination of two things.

Firstly, you need to make sure that the SIM itself is provisioned for MMS and GPRS at network level. You can do this by calling customer services, they'll check the information you have on the SIM. If needs by they can add GPRS and MMS onto the SIM while you're on the phone (this is free and can take up to 48 hours to take full effect on the network). Simply call 191.

Secondly, the handset itself needs to have the correct MMS and Internet settings installed that relate to the network you're using (e.g. Vodafone).

I'm unable to locate a step-by-step installation guide for the LG to use MMS and GPRS on Vodafone, however I've included Vodafone's generic settings below. If you have any trouble inputting them yourself or can't find the correct menus then I'd recommend stopping in to a local Vodafone shop. They'll be able to input the settings for you:

Ok, the way it works is as follows.

Texts go over something called GSM, now to send a text, all you need is the correct message centre for the network your using, and that the message is set 2 be sent as a text (and not a fax etc)

MMS uses something called GPRS. To use GPRS, firstly your phone has to be supported on the network (the reason for this is if it doesn't work, the network can't help very much), and secondly the correct settings have to be installed.

When a phone is not supported, is does not mean it will not work, it means that it is a product they have chosen not to endorse. Because they have not endorsed it, they cannot offer any assistance.

If you go into a store, they should be able to figure out the settings for GPRS/ MMS, but as it's not supported by Voda, there is no guarantee.
