I have recently changed my phone to an unlocked Motorola V3 and have out in my PAYG sim and all works well apart from ni internet connection. The Ornage shop had no success, phoning Orange has had no success, does anyone have the same phone and could give me thier settings so I can at least get on the net and send pictures etc.

This is my first post so hope it is in the correct area?

Cheers

Thanks for that info the problem I have is that the phone list only has the V3i or V3x and not the V3. The chap at the Orange shop tried both those and neither worked. I am trying again though.

Thanks for that link I have been through the registration and went through the process to get the internet settings for the above for a motorola V3 and low and behold on the last screen it does not have that as a phone you can choose.

The settings for most modern motorolas are the same. Can set up by going to web access - web sessions.
Create a new profile.
Name it (doesn’t matter what)
Homepage http://wap.orange.co.uk/
Service type wap
Gateway IP 192.168.71.35
Port 9201
Line type 1 ISDN
APN orangewap

Lots of other options in the profile can be ignored, once settings in highlight the new profile, press menu key and select set default

Many thanks for the settings I must have the only phone that doesn't work with the settings you gave. I have tried a good number of settings now and been to the orange shop and still no joy. I do not understand it.

Just wondering what happens, do you get an error message saying cannot connect or what?

And is it WAP through the browser or are you using it as a modem>
Does MMS work?

Well nothing works its says connecting and the bar goes across the bottom and its does this for a good period of time and then says it cannot connect try again later, but it never actually connects at anytime.

MMS does not work and neither does the internet.

Just a thought, what phone did you have before you upgraded to this one. Orange have a policy of only activating the services that the phone had, so if the sim card you are currently using came from a phone that did not support GPRS or MMS then they wont have switched it on.

If this is the case ring customer services and say you have switched to a new phone, tell them what it is and ask they activate GPRS, MMS, etc etc then that should sort your problem out.

I had a Motorola V3 before that was faulty and I had to send it back. However all the internet side of it worked. I then bought this phone a Motorola V3 and now none of the internet works.

As I say I have had Orange try and send settings but they only had the Motorola V3i settings and they don't work. I have phoned Ornage and the chap spoke me through the settings and I entered them and they don't work. It is a brand new phone and is for the UK and the firmware is set for any network.
