I have used Vodafone for a while now i say about two years, and I have used many new phones, does anyone find that stop the clock is a ripoff.. i say this because they make me feel that i can talk for an hour.. but then the phone magically disconnects in less than five minutes.

I am honestly surprised if it lasts an hour.. and really.. I AM surprised. What can I do to take action against it. I complain through email so many times (i'm only a student i dont really have other ways to call, i refuse to top up just to call their customer services which i know they will leav me on hold and etc.)

I WANT MY FULL HOURS!! today i heard upsetting news and had to discuss it with someone. I couldnt do it because vodafone cut me off twice just after 3minutes. i have 15p exactly left to cal for (hopefully) one hour tonight but i am in a right mood. theres no way i can call and i dont want to top up again right now.

They make me feel i can talk for an hour.. when it disconnects and then when i call back i intend to use it again for an hour, and then suddenly theres a pound left and i think what the hell. i'll use it up to get free weekend. I think its so clever the way they take themoney this way and i seriously think they do it on purpose. (who did this before.. blown the last few quid just to get the free weekend calls... only to do the same thing every week???)

i get £20 a week, ten for travel and use about 5 for food (embarassing to admit) i really believe they do it on purpose. they blame my phones (i bought new ones just to test it with no success)

it may seem nothing to u (only 15p!!) but it puts me in a right mood having to call again or when the connection goes after 3 mins or so)

update:

vodafone gave me £5 (not nearly enough for the stress they gave me for the past month of topping up) but the same issue has occured, the first call was ok, it lasted 40 minutes. But the next three calls was under 6 and a half minutes. Of course I have complained again.

What is the best way though?

What kind of phone do you have? Do you get cut off wherever you are or just in one place? It may be signal or handset problems, I don't think Vodafone will cut you off on purpose as that is illegal and I doubt they would pull cheap stunts like that to save themselves money. I'm on contract with them with STC and I havent ever experienced anything like that

Mita1000,

Vodafone STC works really well, so it is highly unlikely that they have singled you out for speacial treatment :) .

So with that out of the way your problems could have any one of a number of causes. You could try the following, in this order:

1. Make sure that your phone is always up to date on the network by doing a manual roam onto another network and then back onto Vodafone a couple times a week.

2. Try your Sim in another phone to see if you can reproduce the problem. If you can it probably an old or faulty Sim, if not you might want to get the handset checked out.

3. Get Vodafone to check the sites that are local to you. They will need your location (postcode) to do this (See 5 below).

4. Post up the make and model of your handset so we can check to see if there are any known faults there.

5. Vodafone Customers Services have a system in place to pick up Issues and route the e-mail to its UK

email team. You will need to go to http://www.vodafone.co.uk. Click on the "Contact Us" link at the

top of the page.
When the page refreshes, below the "Contact Us by email graphic" click on the "Online Form" link.
It will ask you to input some contact information and to choose if you are Payt or contract customer.

Fill in all the boxes and then go to "Your Message"
You will need to put FIT135 somewhere in the Body of the email message along with the problems you

are having. The UK Email Team will then get back to you.

Keep us up to date here with whats happening

Nope, I change phones quite frequently, and they're always new I even bought a Vodafone model a couple of months ago, which is a nice decent phone and the problem still happens, I have gotten used to it and now I use Vodafone family. If Vodafone family was to stop, you would no doubt have kept hearing from me. Also signal works fine in London with my T-Mobile line, its always been Vodafone with the problem.

first suspect is a faulty sim, this is common, you mention that you swap sim cards in and out of phones, its quite possible you have damaged the sim possibly in a limited fashion!

and its not illeagal if vodafone decide to drop your call for whatever reason, if indeed its vodafone at fault!
