what is a 3d ringtone?
i couldnt tell much difference either... might not have played with them enough!

3-D ring tones simply utilise the stereo speakers on the N73.
The 'train' profile for instance mimics the effect (surprisingly enough) that you get when a train approaches, passes, and recedes into the distance.
Some people think they're amazing, others see little difference, I guess it depends on the tone you're using.
... doesn't help that one speaker is at the top, and the other at the bottom of the phone. Prolly sounds much better if you hold it horizontally ;)
Will post for myself when my N73 arrives on Tues :D

Yes.... Im not overly-happy about the sound quality of my N73... My 6270 had much better sound as it had speakers on the left and right making it sound like stereo widening.

I have yet to figure out how to play with the 3-d ring tones on my sparkly new N73 - time to RTFM I think.

I just got a nokia n95 ^_^ and it has 3d ringtones apparently.
I imagine these can be used to comical effect. If we can hide the phone and have the ring tone play a mumbling like sound but from different locations. It could really wind up the victim having them think they are being harrassed by a ghost.
This is my first impression but as I haven't yet found a source for downloading these ring tones, I don't know what's on offer or if they would actually work that way.
