Hi there, I managed to get myself talked into getting the Dolphin £35 contract yesterday at phones for you. However thinking back on it i've made a big mistake. I was just wondering if it's possible to return the phone and cancel the contract for no charge as it's within the first 14 days.

On the website for both companies, orange and phones4U it say that you can cancel the contract free of charge within the first 14 days. I brought this contract in store and not on the internet however.

Thanks for any help.

Yes you can return the phone and cancel your contract. You have a right to do this and it makes no difference where you got it from. Go back to the shop and explain your position. Or ring Orange customer services.
Best wishes,
M

Yes Mystic, as Marwood says you can do this. You will have to return to the shop within 14 days to cancel, and take everything with you. If you have used the phone to make any calls since activation you will have to pay for any line rental for the amount of days you have had the phone.
Calling cust services wont help i'm afraid as we can do nothing without the shop cancelling the contract. make sure you do get in writing from the shop, the full details of the return, date/time and equipment returned etc

Thank you both very much for your replies, I'll be heading into the shop this monday to cancel this contract, however i'm not the greatest negociator in the world and this is how i ended up in this mess. What i'm worried about is them talking me around and saying that i have no right to cancel the contract, is all i need to say is that i'm within my 14 days and i cannot continue the contract?

Thanks again for all the help.

they might try and say we cannot cancel the contract but put you on to another network etc take no notice, just tell them outright i just dont want the phone and make sure you have got everything that they give you when you took the contract out. GOOD LUCK! but u should'nt need it as you are within your rights.

Hi Mystic
Dont Worry! you have every right to cancel. Orange stipulate a 14 day money back guarantee, regardless of where you got the phone/contract. Phones4U may not like it (due to losing the commision) but that is not your problem! stick firm, say your circumstances have changed and you do not want a contract of any sort. If they quibble about it, ask them to call through to their dealer support line for you to speak to someone yourself. But seriously I dont think you will have any problem. good luck!
