New to Orange 3G

Just moved from 3 to Orange as I wanted the SPV m3100 (it is an amazing phone ;) )

I have a couple of questions:

1) I was told by a customer service adviser when I transfered my PAC that I was entitled to 1000mb/month 3g data for the first 2 months, as a trial to get to know the service. I want to make sure this is true before I go mad!!!

2) When I asked about 3G data tarrifs on Orange the best both a UK operator and someone from India could offer was some pathetic GPRS data addons for a few quid for a few MBs or one costsing £40+ for 80mb or something. It all seems abit mad to me. What the hell is the point of having a top spec 3g/HSDPA handset if I can only buy some GPRS addon? Also I have, according to them, fantastic data allowances for 2 months gratis and then bugger all...

3) Can I check my usage through the web browser without having to phone up like on 3?

I think 3 was better in this sense.. (although probably in no other)

Yes you should get the 1GB a month.
If you sign into your account at http://www.orange.co.uk/youraccount/ you can view which buddles you have by clicking on your phone number. The 3G trial should be listed there as "3G try" or something similar.

Secondly, you are indeed right that the "non special offer" data rates are incredably poor. Until they change them (which I am sure they will have to do soon) you are stuck with it! (note that even though you call it a "GPRS add on" it still allows 3G access. They are both charged in the same way.

To check your remaining minutes you can call 150 and press 1 and 1 again.
You can also check them in your account on the website.
Again, there is currently no way to check the other bundles, or from your phone. For data usage I recommend you use your phones counter and reset it each month.

Under 'Your Bundles' it says:

3G Try (2 months)
500kb Data promo allowance

I hope my try daya is more than 500kb!!! Otherwise I have been lied to and I will have a massive bill!
