I've recently got a new phone (N80) on Orange Dolphin 35. I've just signed into my account online to check it out and it's listing a few bundles, I have no idea what they are or if I need to remove them to avoid getting charged when the free period is up.
They are:
3G Try (2 months) - Try what??
500kb Data promo allowance - How genourous...
Direct 10% Extra - 50 Mins - Seems to mean 50 mins free, but on checking
my minutes I only have the 500 inclusive.
Free Trial Video 10 - Ten videos? Ten minutes?
So if anyone knows about the above, please enlighten me as I've given up trying to phone Orange. They just seem to randomly cut me off after ages of waiting, sometimes it just tells me to try again later!
Cheers...

Yeah i've been trying to get through to orange to report my SIM lost and it just keeps disconnecting, or as you say just tells me 'This service is currently unvailable please try again later' bleeders :D
3G try is (or was when I had it) 1GB data usage for the first 3 months (automatically goes on to a lower bundle after this which you are charged for, so if you don't want it you need to cancel after the three months. also 50 video calling minutes.
and TBH honest I don't know about the rest.

Thanks for your reply.
I was chuffed to here I might have a gig a month trial... but I've just tried to confirm with Orange and been told the following. Some of it doesn't sound right... I think the 1Gb thing was something they did a few months back.
3G Try (2 months) - 4Mb for 2 months
500kb Data promo allowance - An extra 500k data. Seems odd to have as well as the 4Mb.
Direct 10% Extra - 50 Mins - This is an aditional 50 minutes that won't show on my minutes when I ring to check. So it seems I have to start counting them myself when I've finished the inclusive. Pathetic. I asked if they were video calls and she said it makes no difference, inclusive minutes can be video or voice only. This sounds wrong to me, surely they'll charge for video. Will check the Orange site.
Free Trial Video 10 - This is ten video messages
Hoping this info might be slightly useful to someone in the future.

My Try 3G is 1000MB per month for 3 months, which started on August 1st.
This was the try 3G on orange before they changed the tariffs to the new animal ones. I have not yet found a link refering to the try 3G on the animal packages.

Thanks for the ideas. I have emailed Orange to get a definitive answer. I wish it is 1gb trial.

Try 3G is 1) 1000MB a month for two months (£4/month after) and 2) 2 months of 30 minutes video calling.
500KB data is a Racoon perk to do with 3 months free Traffic TV. Essentially covers the cost of the Traffic TV program download. £4/month after.
10% extra minutes. Voice only. Should be counted before your inclusive minutes. So for your first 50 applicable minutes your minutes balance should remain at 500. (This method was the case last I checked, can't be 100% positive though)
Free Trial Video 10 - 10 free video multimedia messages. £4.50/month after the first month.

Is it 1GB per month for the trial period.

Orange have told me by email it is unlimited, someone somewhere else tells me this is true.
The other possibility is that it's 1GB.

Well it is possible that it has been changed to unlimited. But when I upgraded in June, it was 1GB a month for 3 months.
If you are going to use then that 1GB it doesn't really matter. But if you are planning to use it loads then deffinatly make sure because otherwise you will be hit by a massive bill!
edit: this is the information on the 3G guide on the Orange website: http://www2.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?pagename=OUKPersonal&c=OUKService&t=Service&cid=1096023564458&tab=2&mid=1137070320205

It was also 1GB when I took out my contract and as bjh_101 says once out of the data bundle the charges are high.
