Hi guys,

My new 'problem' is whether I should get an SE K800i or wait for the N73? I originally decided to wait for the N73 but its been delayed at least a month until mid-August so its a big wait for the N73:

Pro N73:
- I currently have a T610 but I miss a Nokia :-(
- Isn't the N73 the only smartphone? I don't know if it really matters but I'd love to be able to view and/or edit Word documents for example.
- It takes mini SD cards not some funny Memory Stick format, which are available up to 2GB instead of 1! Considering it will also be my MP3 player, this does matter to me.

Pro K800i:
- It will be my main camera, as I don't have a digital camera, so the camera is important. Is this Xenon flash so much better than the LED flash expected on the N73 then? I know the flash on the N80 is pretty crap.

Pro None:
- No Wifi! But I don't care too much, it wasn't enough to make me get the N80.

Are these right? Anything else I'm missing? Any help? Oviously this is a little hard because no-one can test the N73 yet but any indications would be ace. Cheers.

I have a k800 and am very pleased with it. Yes the n73 is a smartphone but its al dependant on whether youintend in using such applications otherwise symbian means nothing really. If your after perfect pictures i would suggest the k800 as it has a proper flash found in real digital cameras where as the n73 has a normal LED flash.

And M2 micro is not a "funny memory card" format. It is the new kind which is replacing the Pro Duo which has been used for many years. 1GB is available for only £35 and 2GB will be out shortly. Beware though Nokia like to change their memory card types often.

I remember the the 7610 had rs mmc so i bought a 1gb card then out came the 6630 but doh i couldnt use the same rs mmc card as it required the "dual voltage" version of the rs mmc. I can see similar things happening with the mini sd.

Neither phone has WI FI.

The only real advatage the n73 has over the k800 is the video capture. I was sceptical about the video on the k800 in the beginning but its fine once you get uised to it.

Apart from that the k800 plays majority of MP4 formats. Nokias have historically had poor codecs meaning the mp4 tv shows that youd find around for phones like the k750 and k800 would never work on phons such as the n90 or n73. I think only the n93 supports both h263 and h264. I travel a lot so having the odd episode of something to hand is a plus for me.

There are other little quirks youd find with all phones but one thing i like about the k800 is that you can show your caller (when making a video call) your picture gallery.

Both very good phones. Note though that Nokias are very buggy in the beginning (N80 still is now 2 months after release).

I also forgot to mention that the k800 also supports WMV format for videos.

Also the N73 has (quite loud) stereo speakers and the battery life is a lot better. My sister has the K800 and it only has 2/3 hours max talktime, she has to carry a charger in her bag wherever she goes

The N73 has a Carl Zeiss Tesser™ lens in it though which is better than the K800. I have one I bought off expansys.ie and am very pleased wit hthe quality of the photos. the flash photos look fine too in my opinion.

Swings and roundabouts people, swings and roundabouts!

I had a K800i and sold it to get an N73, which I love ;)

I had a k800 and now have an 73. The N73 seems to give more vivid colour representations than the k800.

definitely. If the N73 had a proper flash, it'd win hands down imo.

Yes the flash is the only thing.

Do any of you get a purple type foggy background when taking pictures in low light.

And also a slight grey background when shooting video in the night.
