I am an existing Orange customer of over six years. I seem to be unable to get the same deal as a new customer as quoted by Orange?
The three contracts I have are Everyday 50 (x2) one of which has unlimited WAP access and also Freetime 750 (T-Mobile eq, OVP).
I dont wish to change my numbers but to change over to Racoon tarriff, retaining the unlimited wap (with new phones), they are looking at my previous spend which is presently more than racoon but would actually be less than at present.
The new phones would have to be taken on an upgrade as I wish to keep the numbers. The phones would cost in excess of £80 on upgrade but are free to new customers.
There are several ways I could do go about this obviously, does anyone have any suggestions of what would be the best way.
Are Everyday 50 contacts any use or value to anyone. The contracts have run for over 14 months.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Mark.

To move to one of the new animal packages you need to move to an 18 month contract, you will be getting the same deal on the contract. i.e free insurance, 1000 texts per month, double on on landline minutes on the Racoon tariffs.

You can move to the Racoon (Or any other animan tariff) but you wont be able to keep the unlimited WAP.

The new phones would have to be taken on an upgrade as I wish to keep the numbers. The phones would cost in excess of £80 on upgrade but are free to new customers.

With upgrades they evaluate your previous spending, and then calculate what phones it is worth while offering you for free, and what they charge should be for the rest. For new customers they take a gamble that someone signing up on a £25 per month contract will spend more than £25 per month, and therefore they will be able to make theirmoney back.

What were you thinking of doing? All i can think is that you port the numbers to another networks PAYG SIM, and then set up a new contract with Orange and port the numbers back in. You couldnt give the contracts to anyone, not without loosing the phone numbers.

Thank you for the reply.

I think the annoying thing is that there is a different set of terms if I am a "new customer", the "existing customer" gets a raw deal.
The phones would be free if I was going onto the £30 racoon tariff as a new customer. As an existing customer that would not be the case as it would be classed as an upgrade even if I changed to the Racoon £30, 18 month option.
The key phrase that is used by Orange is that a new connection is needed to get the full offer. New connections are used by companies to charm the relative stock market of which they are listed on.
As for the Everyday 50 contracts then I was thinking of selling these on if they had any value, never mind.
Looks as though I will be an ex-customer in the very near future.
