This is probably covered somewhere else in another thread but i can't find it.

Is anyone else having problems (mostly on weekends) with receiving texts from any network? Sometimes not arriving at all, sometimes arriving several hours later or even the next day. i get it mostly with my gf who is on T-Mobile.

Also I am now using a Nokia 6680 but previously a Sony Ericsson K700i and on both phones through vodafone i have to keep restarting my phone before txt messages will come through. My gf thinks i am ignoring her but i simply don't get the messages.

Be grateful if anyone knows the cause or at least to know that others are suffering the same way

Hi FM1264,

I work for Vodafone and can offer you some informal advice.

This issue is usally caused by your SIM card not fully registering with your local mast. To help this, you'll need to attempt a Manual Roam.

Simply go into the network settings in your handset and perform a new search. When the list of networks appears on screen, select a network other than Vodafone. Your phone won't allow this. Follow the procedure again and select Vodafone.

This tells the network where you are and to send all the messages.

If this doesn’t work, let me know and I'll look into this further for you.

I hope this helps.

Hi fm1264,

I'm also working at Vodafone along with midlands_lad.

If you still have problems then you could go to www.vodafone.co.uk, selecting the 'contact us' option at the top of the screen.

If you select email and then type the text code FIT135 in the body of the email this will automatically be routed to somebody at Vodafone who'll be able to help you.

If you also include the following details in your email it'll allow for a full investigation:

- Make and model of mobile
- Post code area of where the fault is occuring

Hope this helps you if you're still having problems
