The NEC e606 – What You Get For Your Money

The NEC e606 is shipped in a smallish white cardboard box which looks bland. The printing on the box simply confirms the network brand and the name of the phone. Oh, and some pictures of the phone on the underside ? and sides of the box.
Open up the box and wow. I was so impressed. The inside of this box certainly looks the Biz. A picture shows the contents below.
The contents of this magical box are of the highest quality and contains :
- 1 x NEC e606
- 1 x 3G Sim Card
- 2x Battery Chargers
- 2x Batteries ( 780mAh )
- 2 x Battery Charger Leads
- 1x CD_ROM : Tools and Utilities
- Warranty terms and Conditions Leaflet
- 1x Stereo Handsfree
- USB Data Cable
- 3 Pouch Wallet containing :
- Welcome Booklet
- Quick reference Guide Fanned booklet
- User Guide
- Customer Care Guide
- Price Guide Tariffs
- Coverage Guide

The whole information package is of superb quality and covers virtually everything you need to know.
I wish to point out again, that Hutchison 3G ( 3 ) has produced an information pack of outstanding quality and they must be congratulated.
Of particular note is the :
- Service Guide ( small palm sized spirally bound full colour ) is of the utmost quality where each section is supported by colour photographs, colour drawings and screenshots. This is the bees-knees.
- Also of particular note is the Quick Reference Guide ( also palm size but half width ). This guide is really what it says “Quick Guide” and is protected by plastic front and rear covers. Easy to carry around and will last a long time. This covers things such as : navigation, adding contacts, video calls, quick map, playing games, menu map etc etc.
The information pack is presented in a highly durable, three wallet sectioned, transparent plastic wallet pouch ( palm size ) and will undoubtedly last a long time.
The CD-Rom
The CD-ROM covers the following :
- Full Manuals for product and Software
- Bluetooth Settings ( to connect wirelessly to your PC )
- PC File Transfer Software ( transfer date to a PC )
- USB Drivers ( Connect PC to e606 )
- WP-TCP Settings ( optimise data transfer speed )
Well, that’s the review of the goods as received and what you get for your money. My overall comment is that the package ( phone review to follow later ) is of superb quality and well presented. Hutchison 3G has done an excellent job on creating a very good first impression.
A word of caution : The CD-Rom appears to be a bit on the fragile size. Ours snapped in half whilst closing the cardboard box. Take care it is only protected by a plastic sleeve.
