Hi all- I went into a O2 store last week and enquired about when the SE K800 would be released, and I was told mid-july in their stores (even though its on their website now)- however they said they were releasing it in retail stores with "new competitive 3G tariffs". Can anyone confirm and/or elaborate on these- is it a new "web'n'walk" service?

O2 drops a fiver
14:25PM Thu 29 June 2006
O2 is preparing for a major overhaul of its consumer tariff portfolio for next month, in a bid to convert prepay customers onto contract.
In its first major tariff update since 2002, the operator is cutting £5 off the monthly cost of its deals while retaining similar amounts of bundled value. Users who opt for 18-month contracts will be rewarded with at least 50% extra bundled minutes over 12-month packages.
The move will put relatively high-value packages within reach even for low-spending users. It signifies a renewed push for volume from O2. One O2 Advance dealer said: 'The figures that Phones 4u and Carphone did on T-Mobile must have worried O2. They were always the multiples' darling until Flext came along.'
Initial reactions from the dealer channel were positive, although some questioned O2's decision not to opt for more bundled value in the wake of T-Mobile's Flext.

Thanks for your responses.. The question I have is will any of the new tariffs be of a Flext style- to provide some flexible tariffs? The problem with O2 is that you either get too many texts or too many minutes, there is never a good balance between the two...

I hope so... I'd move to O2 if they where to sort the data issue out...
