Hey guys, I can easily access web when i use my phone's internal browser. But I can't access the web when trying to access it through java applications / browsers like "Opera Mini Browser" or "Instant Messenger" etc.

Can anyone help me please?

That is because you need to subscribe to a data tariff. You do not state which network you are on. Assuming it is 3, you need wireless web 56 at £15 a month for 56 megabytes.

I am in india and with BSNL network. I have also subscribe to a data tariff. I am able to access GPRS through the mobile browser.

But is your data tariff a mobile type of web type ? The former adds restrictions, the later does not. I use wireless 56 on 3 here in uk. If I subscribe to their mobile web access (casual user, or mobile internet) then Opera does not work. It simply gives error messages on the phone regarding being unable to connect to server etc. This may be what you are having a problem with.

but then why I am able to access internet with the phone? One if i am able to do it with phone's browser, It should work with java applications too, I think so.

You do not seem to be folowing what I am posting. Viewing stuff on your phone is through its wap portal and not the same as surfing the web on the mobile or using it in a data centric manner i.e. as a bluetooth modem or linked usb/bluetooth to a pc/pda/flybook. IMHO this is where you need to find out what you are subscribed to as the network may be implementing a restiction if you only has a mobile internet package rather than a wireless internet one.
