When I browse the web (IE) I get fuzzy pictures. If I hover over the picture it says press ctr+f5 to reload as hi-res.

Since I'm on unlimited web+walk I'd prefer to get the hi-res photos from the start.

Anyone know what I need to change?

Cheers
Nathan

Hi
It relates to speed proxy, on version 2.5 of cc there is nothing that can be done to change it, version 2.7 has a tick box which just needs to be unticked, the downside is version 2.7 has been withdrawn due to unstable issues

there has been loads of problems with the t mobile software, driver issues, not user friendly, and its unstability with certain laptops, toshiba especially.

this has been nothing short of a nightmare for us to try and sort out for customers when we know fine well the software is ****ed!!!!

i will try and get a link for the option software as this works a treat;)

The option software is superb you have to get it from T-Mobile's tech support they will send it out to you on CD, the T-Mobile software was also constantly crashing my laptop and making the connection slow down to 0 after 30 mins making me reconnect all the time.

However after I installed the option software they gave me I've had no problems since  .

Hi,

Did someone post a link to the option software - can't see it?

If someone could send to me that would be great.

I'm currently using the Dell wireless application manager that came with my laptop (I've put the tmobile SIM into the dell 3g mini-card) - works a treat, but has the same problem with pictures coming through as low res from most sites. (BTW - the dell comes with a vod sim, but isn't locked to the provider...)

hmmmm is there any way you can just use windows dial up networking to dial the connection?

BTW. There is a thread in the data card forum re: the image proxy here (http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=44215)

yes you can, create a new connection from network connections in the control panel, select a new connection for connecting to the internet, you then select connect using a dial up modem, select the globtrotter card, give the connection a name e.g tmobile, dial up number is *99#, username is user, password is pass, ensure you dont have the communication centre software running in the background. As the communication centre software isnt being used no res issues, will still connect to 3g/hsdpa as long as a signal is present.

I gave them a call, but they person I spoke to hadn't heard of an option pack, or any specific solution to the low-res pictures. They pointed me here however:

http://solutionspartners.t-mobile.co.uk/moffice/user/page.phtml?page§id=98

I don't see anything obviously related there however.

Is there a specific item code for the option CD?

I'm a bit late coming to this thread but thought I'd add my comments anyway.

Regarding the fuzzy images they are compressed to save on bandwidth. IMO this is a good idea as it saves you wasting bandwith on pointless images on websites. If you want the full version just press CTL + F5 to refresh the page with the uncompressed images. An alternative that doesn't do any compression or require software is to "spoof" the User Agent in the HTTP header. One of the more obscure browsers (Blazer) doesn't support the proxy compression therefore all you need to do is add this as a line on the user agent and hey presto, no more image compression.

Here is a link to the original article...

http://www.evdoforums.com/thread1053.html?www.reghardware.co.uk

There is a link off there that explains how to modify the user agent.
