Hey,
i was talking to the o2 CS on the phone about upgrading and i was told it *should* be out tomorrow for 129.99.
Fine i think.
I went into an o2 shop however, and they said they have it friday, in the shop, and i could upgrade there to save any hassle.

But when i asked the 02 lady on the phone, they said it *could* effect my 1/2 price line rental deal?
Is this true?

Or can i just buy it over the counter?

Cheers
Rich

Any retention deal like half price line rental when given has only 12 months validity on your account,

The best way to get round it is get retentions to offer you the same deal but stress that you want to get the phone instore, when instore explain to sales advisor and they will scan through as legacy tarrif (means not full price or old tariff) then u can call up for dfiscount (if offered again) to be applied!

Cheers.
I think i understand,
But... i just got back from the o2 shop, and they said i can just come in and buy the handset for £130 tomorrow when its offically released (they have loads in stock he said), and it would just be buying a handset as such.
i dont care how he does it, but he said it wont effect my contract at all.

Oh yeah, o2 online told me the 5th, the 7th, then the 15th, now JULY!!!!!!

Well, i got the phone today, and they were going to do o2 200 with double everything for 6 months, but when i said about 1/2 price line rental, he went, "oh, never mind then", and clicked it to a legacy tariff!

just a slight hijack of this topic - i am on o2 as well and have just been upgraded to the n80 - and the o2 site - phonesync does not work, nor does the address book backup and so I'm really struggling to move my stuff from one phone to the other...

any help much appreciated.
