I found the 'where am i' not very accurate when I tried it from home. Certainly if I had been in an area I did not know it would be enough to get me even more lost - if that were possible.

Don't they take your location from the closest mast. so in some areas it will be more accurate than others.

And when you really have got no idea where you are it is better than nothing. I have used it a couple of times on Orange and found it useful.

They take the location by comparing signal strengths from different maps and triangulating the results, so it depends on mast density, the more masts the more accurate it is.
