Does anyone know when the Vodafone prepay priceplans will be released, I've been waiting for over a month, as Vodafone said they'll be out beginning of May!

Thanks

Hello

I work for Vodafone and can offer some informal help.

There are no plans at the moment to release new Pay As You Talk (PAYT) price plans as such, however there are some special offers for PAYT packages.

There are PAYT SIM cards available online at www.vodafone.co.uk/onlinestore that include 1000 free text messages, but these numbers will be on the current price plans that we offer.

I hope this helps.

I wish vodafone would stick to giving out one bit of information. Most dealers understand and indeed some staff understand there are to be new PAYG plans from 01 June.

Yep, I don't think that the Vodafone Customer Care staff have been told about the new priceplans, but I have heard they will be coming out 1st June. If they don't I'll be moving to T-Mobile!

Could a £22 BILLION loss hold their plans up a bit?

It better not! Vodafone are a bit late launching these priceplans!

Not seeing much happening yet Voda :(
On their homepage there is this;
"500 free texts every month for life with a pay as you talk SIM pack"
But the link is inactive.

Thats a bit of a disappointment! Thought Vodafone would release some new priceplans today, but only a text message offer! Oh well, porting department said they'll be bringing lots more services out in the next 2 months or so.

Hi,

No new price plans have been released although the main promotion has been the 500 free texts for life. This was introduced on the 1st June. The summary of the promotion is below.

Available to new customers purchasing a Prepay SIM Only pack via the Vodafone Online Store (www.vodafone.co.uk).

To qualify a you must purchase a SIM Only pack during June 2006 (packs bought between 1 and 30th June 2006 will automatically be provisioned onto the promotion).

If you’ve got a promotional SIM, you’ll receive 500 free texts, in the form of a text pack lasting 30 days, every month that you TopUp £15 or more in the previous month.

The texts are applied on the anniversary of the activation of the SIM. As an example, if you activate the SIM (by making a chargeable call or similar) on the 5th of June then their first texts would be applied on 5 July assuming that you topped up £15 or more in the intervening period. Subsequent texts will then be applied on the 5th of each month as long as you TopUp is £15 or more in the prior month.

The promotion is for the life of the SIM and as such it doesn’t matter if you don’t TopUp £15 or more for one or more months, because you’ll receive no texts, but you’ll still be on the promotion. As soon as you do TopUp £15 in a month you’ll receive your free texts the following month.

I hope this helps.

All voda. sims support 3g. If you have an old voda. sim, a call to customer service will give you 3g support on your sim.

Hi guys,

Most SIM cards are 3G ready. Only Video calls will need provisioning on your accounts.

Further to the original query, Vodafone are planning to launch a new Pay as You Talk Price Plan on 1st July 2006.

The details haven’t quite been finalised yet, but if will be something like this; If you use £5 credit between Monday and Friday, your calls and texts during the weekend are completely free.

Have a look at a previous post I've done: http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showpost.php?p=230879&postcount=17

greetings to every and all,

Basically the story starts with me ordering a Vodafone PAYT sim card sometime during June. You may know the one I mean you get 500 free texts if you top up £15. well, eargely wait i did. but no! neither did it arrive nor did Vodafone bother to reply stating they dont give a flippin flap (not the best of introductions to the normally and hopefully not oxymoronic Customer Care) emphasis on the moronic of course..
my guess it got half inched by the postman or vodafone are just incompetent..or both.
I've been on missions man.. i've searched high and low and through all other dimentions of this damn internet looking for these elusive chips and now i find myself here..

I give my eternal thanks to anyone that can point me in the direction or even better provide one of these chips..
again thanks

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you've had with your SIM pack ./xyz

Vodafone do have a current offer on Pay As You Talk called 'Free Weekends', it's possible to obtain your SIM pack from the following link:

http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/index.cfm?go=simpacks.payasyoutalk

I've also spoken with our Pay As You Talk department today and they've advised me that it's still possible to take out a SIM pack with Vodafone, then ring up and get the promotion added, e.g. if you spend £15.00 a month you can get the 500 free text messages.

If you do have any problems arranging this you could always get in touch by email, going to www.vodafone.co.uk, contact us, email, leaving the code FIT135 in the body of your email will route through to somebody who'll be able to help.

Is this still the case. I have this offer on my sim but my gf is an existing voda PAYT customer and does not and her sister is joining vodafone payt this christmas.

Would both of them be able to get the free texts on their sims too and if so is e-mailing with the FIT135 code the best way to achieve this

Hi,

I've spoken to our pay as you talk department about this again today and they've assured me it's possible to provision this offer onto a new SIM / SIM without the offer at present. If your girlfriend and her sister did want to do this they could either contact customer services directly on 191, or use the above code and our email team can then speak to the pay as you talk department on their behalf and get this set up.
