Simply 3G have the N80 connected on three for pre-order,price TBC.

But then they also say the N90, A1010 and others are coming soon.

The only difference is you can preorder the N80.

A cs rep the other day said it and the n71 was coming soon but wouldnt specify a date. A guy who works for 3 is on another thread (19 new handsets coming soon, in the 3uk general discussion) claims all staff underwent training on the n80 last week and the phone should be released any time soon. But he also said the n80 wasnt in the point of sale for May. A b it of a mixed message but make what you will from it.

I had a word with a 3 Customer Rep yesterday and he informed me that they get training on new handsets 15 days before they are released. As of yet not training, so therefore atleast 2 weeks before any signs of n80 on three!

3 are always long... it took me about 15 minutes to get my PAC number from them and i went through about 5 different departments before. all i can say after that experience is, it feels good to be free from 3 :)

Ti be honest as far as bettery is concerned id rather have it on O2 as i can switch of the 3g when im not using it where as on three im sure using UMTS network it will drain a lot quicker.

Please, dont listen to what people (esspecially 3points) say about this phone. I dont mean to offend anyone who works for 3, as there are some people what know what they are talking about, but the majority dont, and just make things up to get you away. If you dont want to buy something off them, they dont care.

If you think about it, that would be suicide for 3. The software used is Symbian 60, so if they cant support that, then they wont be able to support any other new symbian phone coming out.

That about sums 3 up :) no idea when they are getting N80, poor coverage, the worse quality 3G ever, poor customer services... when i called to get my PAC code and asked about the N80 they started telling me we have the 6280 blah blah blah like they had been programed like little droids, and their call centres arn't even in the uk.

Me neither. People were all sayin the same things about the w900 on three when it was coming up to the end of the 3 month exclusivity period. But it was a handset that never was. I can see 3 releasing the n73 as they already had the n70 however theres still the matter of the n71 aswell.

Well I only want this phone. If they are not getting it. I just want them to let me know, as my contract is due to run out.

I wont go for Orange or Vodafone because of the brandings that they give.

Most of the evidence seems to be pointing to 3 getting a limited number of n80's within the next 2/3 weeks. Please stop posting nonsense about august or about 2 days from now. Neither is very likely.
What could be possible is that they hold it for a further 2 weeks to make it upgrades only initially.

it ISNT we are all in the hands of 3 or whoever but it is both good to know some dates are being given, even if this turns out to be incorrect because 3 might hold it back or whatever, but i have also asked in 3 shops and theyre saying the same as they are to You so like you say in the hands of the gods it is interesting to see different dates by different shops helps one decide whether the true time is close.i was speaking to the manager of my local 3 shop and she says when they did the course the other week the woman who was showing them the how to's of the N80 said i have a date but i cant tell you yet but it IS very soon

The N80 will be out on "3" ... and "3" store managers have been told that handset will roll out on or after the 15th of May (Notice I said "3" managers not CPW or P4U). Staff have been trained on this handset and I had one to play with (they could cancel its release but at this stage I doubt it)

Three uk, have a habit of changing dates around but the handsets are ready to be sent to the stores this month be it today or the last day of the month. No Point of sale has been sent to stores but this is not unsual for any retailer, the phones just appear in totes and then away they go. Some 3 points and stores are confused as in the past we get conflicting messages and unbranded phones appear on websites first but this doesnt mean we dont get them.

All good things come to those who wait...... alot of new things & handsets are about to happen....... so you people if u want a N80 on "3" are just gonna have to wait that little bit longer....

If and when we get them in, I will post a note and then you can all push up new connection targets :)

It looks like N80 on three will be white with slightly differnet shape. Look at the top, its rounded, the camera is differnt. It looks pretty poor compared to standard Nokia N80. It looks like i will be getting the black version on o2. :mad:

They have truly destroyed the look of the phone if their final product is like that. Wouldnt suprise me if they have altered some of the features aswell.

The N80 on three will look the same as on the other networks. That is a computer concept from Nokia. It was the first pictures of the N80 ever seen in about october last year i believe (if not sooner).

My local Threestore in Watford seemed a bit annoyed that Vodafone, Orange and phones4u all had them instore and on sale.

I even had a play with one in the Watford Vodafone shop.

Three are pushing really hard for a release next week.

yes from 250 down to 150 the only time it is "free" is on the £75 or above LOL

i gave up on CS. I have used threestores. I am a headhunter (researcher) as a living and have had to work on headhunting projects recently on a on a telco engineer project. A few of the companies were 02, 3 and T-Mobile.

I knew who to ask for and play dumb by asking for the wrong person and pretending to be 'put through' to the incorrect person. It is part of my job. To be honest I have had more joy from Threestores.

The head office engineers and threestores are hoping for next week!

I have the end of my three contract looming quickly and have hung on telling them to cancel or whatever so as to see what the offer on the n80 will be iam hoping it will be free or V cheap! :( i so want to see this fone
first to totally decide lol i have my orders in the shop as soooooooooooooon as it arrives they will ring me and i told them if by chance they got black or another unusual colour than silver to GRAB that one LOL :)

i saw something then i read that this was a first edition that Nokia brought out like i say i reserve the judgment till i see it in me little hands LOL to 100% make up my mind between this and the N91:D if i dont get the deal i want with three i will move sadly i have been happy with the deal there and the CS

Yes, but to be honest, you will find to see a genunie picture of the N80 anywhere on the internet. They are virtually ALL computer generated images on the shops websites etc. The only time you see a real picture is in a review or something.
However, seeing as three have put this picture on their accessories site, it could or most likely mean that this is the final version that they are going to sell. Look what they did with the K600i (completely changed the model round to a K608i), so they are totally capable of doing the same with the N80.
I really hope im wrong, but it does look like that is what they are planning to sell. Anyway, unless there is someone who works for three who can dismiss/confirm this, we will just have to wait and see.

See photos from ages ago , the one shown on the 3 accesories page was a fake put out on the internet once the basic specs had leaked out about the N80.

It appeared on many a forum but was a photoshop although quite a good one seeing as not a lot of people had actually seen the phone , if I remeber rightly was made up from a SE handset.

Not always. I had 2 n70s on three. The first one did not have any 3 branding physically on the phone but the second one and most after that had 3 branded on the back and on one of the buttons.

dont ever trust what 3UK put on their websites...i remember when the NEC e616 was released they had a blue version of that and a green c975. I think what you will actually get is a normal N80 if and when it comes. Hopefully soon i need an upgrade!!!

if you take the 6680 for example, they had to alter the firmware so you couldnt manually lock it to 2g (as this then routes through o2 and costs them it is meant as a backup only), they also had to ensure that for contend downloaded from 3 you couldnt send it on (DMR), ithink they even had to jiggle their webpages to suit. so even though its not branded to the same extent as voda, you can see there are somethings that need developing and testing, but these should have been done ages ago as presumably they got some demo ones!?!

Went into my local superdrug 3 store on saturday and they said the N80s release date was meant to be the 16th May but it has been pushed back... again. Phones 4 U had some in on voda but reckoned the N80 was exclusive to voda for the next 30days. Despite this, o2 and t-mobile stores both had had them in on saturday too! And both t-mobile and o2 stores said that 3 will never get the N80.

Does anyone know what is going on..? ;)
