I am looking for a suitable contract for the N80 - but it's such a minefield! - I was hoping someone could point me out a tarriff/supplier to suit my needs, these basically are:
N80 handset :p
500 texts pref (200 minimum - I do more texting than calling!)
200 minuits any network (don't need anymore than that)
£35 or under a month
12 month contract
Online or Highstreet - not bothered
+ any other 'specials i.e. free video calling minuits, half price rental, free insurance etc etc
Handset price - don't care, I'll pay it!! - as long as it's not an absurd price for a contract handset.
Don't really want Orange - but will consider if the deal is right!
O2 forget it - no 3G coverage in my area & signal is poo at my house & workplace

I know you would prefer not to have Orange, but their online exclusive tariff is £30 for 200mins and 500texts. And you can have this on a 12 month contract, which is a rare thing these days!!
I have no idea about handset price on it though. Should be available in a couple of weeks though.
EDIT: Other contracts to consider:
3 - Direct Text 1400 on the website. 300mins, 1000texts, £5 downloads, 100 photo/video messages, 25mins UK video calls, and double texts for 3 months on the 12month version (half price line rental for 10months on the 18 month version) for £30.
O2 - Online 200. 200mins, 500texts, 1MB data, £30 for 12months.
T-Mobile - Relax 30 - 250mins, 500 free texts per month for life (special offer, if you join before 30th June). £30 for 12months.
These four tariffs are the best 12months ones, direct from the websites of the networks. Vodafone's online plans said 18month contract only. I hope these are of some help.

I want a very similar contract too, i'm gonna wait till the networks have released them officially though, as you can usually get killer deals on there websites rather than sometimes paying over the odds just to get it a couple of weeks early.

Cheers for the feedback guys,
I will probably stick with Orange & go for the £30 , 500 texts/200 mins - thats
what my current contract is, & wait till the N80 becomes available.
I can't risk 02 again - there is no 3G coverage on my postcode & the signal is crap at my house & near non-existent at my workplace. I had a O2 contract about 7 months ago & ended up doing the 14 day ditch - I don't know if it's improved since then?? - I live in Nuneaton (CV10)
Shame it isn't coming out on Three till august! , they seem to have some wicked deals when it comes to texts, video calling minuits etc.
vodafone is pretty sound and have been around the longest in the game

My partner wants prety much the same contract you need. Its a shame she cant get the n80 yet with a deal like that.
She has waited 6 months for this phone and now it is out still cant get it.
If anyone knows a contract with a lot of texts and a few minutes 200 will be fine please let me know

Here is a good deal from OneStopPhone Shop, with a tariff that suits me:
Orange Canary £30, Free N80, 200 Mins, 575 texts, 5 months half price rental,
Only problem is it is an 18 month contract - I would prefer a 12 month with the same minuits/texts/rental - & pay more for the handset - anything around?
Also haven't people had trouble OneStopPhoneShop? - i.e. them saying the N80 is in stock & ready to dispatch - when it aint!!

Going back to Orange....
I currently have a Orange contract which runs out in about 2 months. There is a good online offer of the Canary £30 18 month tarriff, 200 mins, 575 texts,
5 months half price line rental, N80 free.
My question basically is,
Would it be better for me to pay off my existing contract & take a new one out? - or phone up Orange & see if I can upgrade to the N80 in my existing contract (I'm not waiting 2 months+ for a N80!).
OR
phone up Orange & tell them I want to pay my contract off & ask them if they will give me the deal I want?
I did phone up Orange CS - & they said I would have to phone them back when the N80 is available??

Yes, you need to contact them when it is available.
But you are allowed to upgrade in the last 3 months of your Orange contract. You will be able to keep your existing contract or change to a new one.
Although, depending on how much you currently spend, they may well want a hefty sum for the N80, and in that case it would be better to pay it off and buy it on that deal you've found. Note that they may offer you more at this stage as you will get transferred to retentions.

I think you are right! - I'm going to phone them up & get a quote for paying off my existing contract & take a new one out - I've just noticed some suitable tarriffs on the Orange website, with the N80 for £49.99

I've also noticed something on the Orange website that I don't understand:
On the online tarriff special offers extra gift - it gives you the option of:
50 extra cross-net
minutes on 3G
What does the 'on 3G' bit mean mean? - does this mean video calling??

Thats good news! - you hardly ever see an Orange tarriff with free 3G/video calling included - if it does mean that(??), that's the one I'm going for!:
18 Month
150 mins (50 3G)
500 texts
N80 £49.99
£25 a month

Is it me - or do Orange never offer any inclusive video calling minuits on ANY of there tarriffs? - if not, isn't it about time they started doing so!

No they don't. But do vodafone or t-mobile? I know 3 and O2 do.
