Guys,
anyone know how many sms txt msgs the Nokia N80 can store, my nok 6680 can only store a maximum of 999 (have 800 stored) but would prefer if these could be exported to the new phone
More than 8800 ofcourse. Didnt know there were limits outside of storage space :P

My Nokia 7610 (S60 like the N80) starts to slow down at around 1500 received and 999 sent messages.
This is due to the messaging app requiring more RAM than the phone has available. So in higher end phones with more RAM, I would expect you to be able to store more than my 7610.

thats a whole lot of texts! are you realy going to reread them on your phone? why dont you just back it up onto the computer and veiw them from there, if you need to keap that many texts then you should have them backed up onto your computer anyway.

I had over 800 texts (sms and mms) in my Inbox on my Nokia 3650 (Symbian series 60, first version) and at around 800 is started to get veerrrryyy slow. I went through deleting a lot of them because I had no need to have them on there, I'd just not bothered deleting them for a while and was also interested in seeing how many it could hold :)
Beats the limit of 20-odd on my old Nokia a few years back!

To be honest I don't really re-read them, and its not important to keep them, so I don't back them up on the computer. Never really could on the old PC suite?
I might keep backups once I get the N80, because PC Suite is improving in that respect.
I mainly had that many so I can say "look at how many texts I can store" as well as simply not being bothered to delete them until I experience slow down!

That should be the number of sent messages that are saved.
You can store messages on your pc too.
