Hi all, After asking loads questions on the forum I have decided to go to orange and ordered the n70. I will send it to king mobile to flash for me. My o2 contract will end in 5 to 6 weeks will I be able to port my number then to orange or will orange only allow you to port a munber when you order the phone ??

It seems to vary from network to network. I suggest you give Orange a ring and see what they say.
You can ask for your port code anytime in the last month of your previous contract. As soon as you get it pass it on to Orange

I ported my number to orange about a year ago, and I'm pretty sure that I didn't do it when I ordered. I almost certainly did it when I called to activate the phone - I don't know if they'd let you do it after then.

In any case, I'd suggest that you don't activate it 'til after you've flashed it, so that way you'll get a fresh set of network settings after the flash without having to ring CS and ask 'em to do it again, should the flash knacker the settings...but then you knew that anyway right ;)

Yes you do lose orange settings when you flash, I did give prange pac code for my old o2 payg so i'd have a number that i remember, just wondered if they would port again, think probably not. I'm not too worried about the settings though you can get them sent to you on their settings web page

I ordered a N80 on Orange today. They told me you have to provide PAC within 30days of placing your order.

I've just ported my number back to Orange having switched to 3 nearly a year ago. Absolutely no problem with either of the changes. Only problem now is that 3's coverage is better than Orange! Orange customer services is brilliant but I'm definitely not happy with their coverage, I think I'll buy a 3 sim and start using my 3 phone again. Orange invest in coverage? I think that they've stopped and are going backwards.
