Video Call Services are only expanding along with all mobile networks. As neilfj says its misinformation.

like i said, had enuff! movin to orange!
Vodafone has stopped doing some of its 3G price plans. It had some promotional price plans, which offered inclusive video call minutes to promote 3G.
As these were promotional, they were time limited.
Vodafone still offers the full range of 3G services, including video calling, it’s just that these won’t come out of your price plan minutes.
They’re offering extra services now, like Sky Mobile TV, have a look at this thread http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=37072

If you are expecting to get better 3G services at Orange I wish you good luck my friend!! Voda I admit need to improve in many departments but as time will show, Voda's 3G network is probably the best quality one available at the moment. Take it from someone who is not only moving from VF to O2 in phone terms but also employment!!

With todays anouncement of hundreds of jobs going with Voda, I suspect we may see many more misinformation comments from disgruntled staff in the next few months...
Video calling is not a popular option with voda,,, unlike 3 who pushed it hard,, even voda.co.uk doesn't seem to mention video calling as an option but it does mention sending videos etc! Not being in a 3g area I cannot test this out, but if the OP is wanting to actually make a video call (live video between 2 phones) then the answer may well be that voda don't offer this or that you must pay data rates for the call. I hadn't noticed this before,, (and have absolutely no use for such a service).. but maybe this is what the CS are saying? Does anyone here actually make video calls???

daveislander, Was than last comment directed at me? If it was then could you answer what you mean by "misinformation comments" please? Also if I am a "disgruntled staff" member why would I say "Voda's 3G network is probably the best quality one available at the moment". The reason I am moving to O2 is actually personal not redundancy and since I wrote that comment I've decided to keep my Vodafone especially for the Video Calling Service which I have been using frequently for over a year now very successfully, albeit VF-VF.

Daddycool.... My comment was 'directed' at all those poor folk who will lose their jobs over the coming months due to Vodafones ridiculous spending spree (which every analyst said was suicidal) and the resulting punishment of innocents in order to placate shareholders! You changing jobs was not even considered when I replied! I am a supporter of Voda, and have been for many months, but this latest cock up will undoubtably upset staff and cause bad feelings and undoubtably result in disgruntled staff! If you aint disgruntled, how could my comments be directed at you?
My point remains the same though.. Voda do not appear to openly offer or advertise video calling (which the OP stated in their second post) and in that case the comments from the voda CS would seem to have been correct. If the service isn't readily available or Vodafone do not offer video calls anymore (and I cannot find this service on voda.co.uk) then the OP raised a valid point and it has nothing to do with staff being wrong or disgruntled because they were correct. Hope this clears it up and I hope your new job is a success.
Hello
Vodafone definitely still offer video calling to all customers with 3G phones (who are in 3G coverage)
The service is still listed on the website at www.vodafone.co.uk, if you click ‘get more from your mobile’ then ‘texting, pictures and video’ and then ‘video calling’ from the list that appears.

Thanks for that IanG.. It does seem to be somewhat hidden away unlike 3 network who base a good deal of their advertising upon the ability to 'chat' via video... As I said, it's not particularily my 'cup of tea' and its not shouted about by voda,, but if it is a viable service then the OP was indeed either lied to or came across disgruntled CS staff....
