£7.50 per month for UNLIMITED data allowance !

My source is my T-mobile sales exec, she had told me about 90 seconds earlier so i had to put stylus to screen and tap away with the good news!

i did ask her if it was really an unlimited usage and she said there would be 'NO FAIR USAGE POLICY AT ALL' so i could replace my broadband with an MDA-pro :-)

It will be starting as from 1st of next month as the mob are doing a reshuffle and a simplification of their tariffs from then.



Well sorry to tell you but you source isn't quite right. There will be an "all you can eat" data bundle from 1st April, for only £7.50 (or £10 if you get the "business" version with 362kb UPLOAD speed!!) However, their will be a fair use policy if someone can make a decision about what it will be! The latest contender is a 2Gb cap, and once you bust it, you're dumped down to GPRS speeds.


now as it says starts from april 1st ( hmmm a bit suspect that date ) so is there any t-mob insiders here who can confirm this wild rhumer???

dont change your broadband just yet. yes in theory there should be a 362kb upload speed on a 3g handset but thing is when you put atke all factors it only ends up (if you plug up to a pc) of doing about 9.kb. there was alot said about the £7.50 thing in the past few days but nothing in rgds to the fair use policy.

there is a fair use policy, i read it in the brief we received.

for example; you cant use your device as a modem, you cant use it for video telephony and some other things that were mentioned in it.

Thanks for contacting me about the web 'n' walk option that you've seen available on My T-Mobile.

The web 'n' walk option isn't officially released until the 1st April. It was available on My T-Mobile in error when our web technicians were testing its functionality, prior to the April 1st release date.

Web 'n' walk option gives you an unlimited allowance to use each month (fair use policy of 40MB). The feature costs £7.50 (inclusive of VAT) per month. There is a run on rate of £1.00 per MB when the Unlimited allowance (fair use policy of 40MB) is exceeded.

Basicaly the AUP specifies its for handset websurfing ( no modem for laptop access ) and not for skype or video confrencing.

from what i can tel they get rid of web n walk plans and now have the new plans that are "web n walk" relax and flext. meaning for those on Friends and Relations the whole lot should be half priced.

Just in case....this has been confirmed to be misinformed from T-Mobile's CS. The internet has a fair usage of 2GB...which tbh, is enough for handheld use :)

It definitely is. I thought vodaphone where going to be the first to catch onto this, but it seems t-mobile are going to beat them to it, despite vodaphone's investment in giving out cheap 3G cards.

Which leads to my next question, I wonder if it's possible to get a t-mobile sim card working on the vodaphone 3G card. Apparently the card istn't locked, only the software you connect through is.

To my understanding, you can't use the unlimited service on laptops (except for the new "pro" data bundle which is coming 17th April). But I *think* you can use 3G speeds on 3G mobiles - you just need a new sim card for this.

Yeah, that is true - but I wonder if a) it's really enforcable or b) they actually care so long you don't start using lots of data.

My only use is to get email into outlook instead of through the PDA. The actual data usage dosen't change at all, which is all they really care about. In fact it would be better for t-mobile becase my data card is 3g which is a lot cheaper for them, than my phone which is GPRS.

What is the pro data bundle?

Things like VoIP over mobile networks will have to be restricted.....due to it's lengthy packet usage (as well as threatening the mobile networks' main business). Things like web browsing use up smaller data packets...which is understandably easier to maintain on something everchanging like mobile networks.

The potential problems will arise (predictably) from people using the unlimited internet on bandwidth intensive purposes such as P2P...hence why they have to be strict on the usage.

Yup, and that's completly fair enough - which is why i think they will just block people doing that sort of thing as opposed to anyone using a laptop.

yep...the "pro" data bundle (AKA Business Data Bundle methinks) will be coming for normal Laptop use. It should be coming out on the 17th. I *think* it'll be £10...but I can't confirm this :P

Arr .. makes sense. I am on a business line and just signed up for the £7.50 one, I was expecting to get offered this £10 one, but will just upgrade to that when/if it comes out.

Have just signed up for the W'n'W Flext35 for £31.88/month I get £180 usage which I can use for either talk, text or MMS plus unlimited (subjedt to no VOIP, streaming or laptop use and a 32Gb FUP) and got a free Compact II to sell on eBay and use the USIM in my Exec.

I am a happy man :)

The Pro version due on the 17th lifts the restrictions (which aren't a problem for me) and will cost £8.50 + VAT.

Roll on the 10th when O2 will release AKU2 and I can start using push email - which I can now do without worrying aboyut the cost of data access :)

I was actually told there was *no* limit by the t-mobile rep. I even mentioned the 2GB limit and she said nope, so long you don't do any of the banned things it really is unlimited.

Either way, it is definitely not 40MB. Given that they have normal GPRS plans bigger than 40MB, calling a plan unlimited but having it smaller than one that already exists would be misleading advertising to the extreme.

I think they will find it incredibly hard to enforce 40MB on an unlimited tariff. 40MB is not even close to being unlimited.

solo...where are you getting this information from? The only place I found this 40MB limit stated was in Mobiholics by an apparently misinformed CS guy in an email. This has since proven to not be the case...unlimited really is unlimited (on the basis that you follow the guidelines).

Well I've signed up for it. There is a 2Gb FUP but if anyone can come anywhere near 2Gb without streaming or using laptop then they must be doing something very odd!

Efectively this is unlimited access from your device for £7.50 and I, for one, am very happy with it.

I think initially there were some confusion with the fair usage limit....it was a bit of a bold move by T-Mob especially when you consider that the Web N Walk tariff was readily available and had 40MB included.

But I think it's confirmed by quite a few to be "unlimited" <-subject to a fair use policy which makes it very difficult to go over 2GB every month!

I have no use for VOIP - T-Mobs prices are so cheeap and I don't phone abroad, and I have a £2 radio - never seen much point in streaming it myslf. but that's just me.

we have received the new propositions for april and it states that if you connect to a relax or flext tariff you will get unlimited usage subject to the fair usage policy provided you dont use it for video telephony etc, peer to peer file sharing etc.

the web 'n' walk professional tariff which will be launched mid-april has a 2gb limit.

this is what i have read in the briefs that we have received.

W&W bundle @ £7.50 has no limit to use except for the exceptions stated above. it is neither 32GB, 2GB or 40MB.

the W&W Pro has 'Unlimited' use of GPRS with a FUP of 2GB and is available to corperate customers now and will be available to consumers in early may.
