Hi!
I just got my v600i on eBay, and unlocked it from vodafone, but it's still vodafone branded. I want to debrand my v600i by flashing it to a k600, to get rid of the vodafone propaganda and speed up the phone.
I'm a little scratchy with some basic steps and terminology here, could I get some help please? I have some questions...
1) I read you can update a K600/K608 using a MiniUSB cable now. Is a MiniUSB Cable the standard cable I got in the box to synch the phone with my PC?
2) Can I get out of buying a T28 cable? I don't quite want to 'update' my v600i, I want to flash the v600i to K600, can I do _that_ with a MiniUSB cable?
3) What software do I need? I have SEUS 2.2.13.7 and Davinci client 15.8 (www.davinciteam.com/).
I tried to get SEUS 2.2.13.7b from Sony's site just then and got a 404 so had to get the older version elsewhere. I hope that doesn't cause a problem.
4) I read about a process from http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=33907 :
>You can update by mini-usb cable

>choose DCU-60
>take out your sim card
>replace battery
>hold c
>plug in mini usb
>press power button
>wait til step 6 comes up saying let go of c
>all done
How does this work? Do I open DaVinci and perform these steps? I tried these steps to test, and Windows recognises a device has connected (it beeps) BUT the phone doesn't turn on. I assume this is good.
Where do I go next!
Any and all of your help is greatly appreciated, there's not a forum out there that explains this clearly.
