SDA II settings

Hi all

I am a complete novice to this subject and a newbie to the forum (be gentle with me!). I also apologise if this subject has already been dealt with.

I have just obtained an SDAII from T-Mobile complete with Co-Pilot GPS. The phone and GPS work fine and it is a nice bit of kit. However, I am an old git (50 in 2 weeks) and I want a simple screen and background on the screen.

I can make changes to my liking and it is OK until I turn off the phone. When I turn it back on again it resets to T-Mobile defaults.

I contacted their helpline and they advised that I leave it turned on! I presume they have programmed it this way.

Is there a way to overide the defaults.

Unfortunately the sda's and mda's aren't designed to be turned off but to go into a stand by mode, there is no setting that you can amend to stop the device resetting after loss of power, mda's have a backup battery of 72 hours

Thanks for your thoughts. I am quite surprised though as I recently had the SPV 500 which does allow changes to be kept after power down. I still suspect T Mobile have programmed it this way to ensure that their logo is the default setting - quite annoying really.
