when come to end of 12 month contract and trying to get better deal off carphone warehouse as bills piad through them has any 1 got better deal or sweetner to stay with them

Best bet is to request your PAC (Port Authorisation Code) from them and say you are taking your number elsewhere. They will usually ask what deal you have seen and will often match it (3's deals are often good ones to use as examples). If they don't give you a deal at this point they aren't likely to (since it's potentially the last chance they have). It doesn't actually matter if you have no intention of moving your number - the PAC doesn't actually do anything unless you give it to another provider and will simply expire after 30 days if unused and your contract continues as normal with your current provider.
If you can't get a sweetener to stay with CPW you can always use your PAC to move to Vodafone 'proper' - they are a different Service Provider and so you are able to port your number while still staying on the same network. They usually have some fairly good introductory deals going. Of course you can just take your number to a completely new network too if you prefer. Just remember to give your PAC when taking out a new contract so the new provider knows you are porting a number in.
