Are there any new phones comming out on Three in '06.

I know of these only:

LG u5550

Can I also get a price estimate on say, handset cost :)

I would say the w900 would be free on t&t 700 and above. As for the LG im sure that would be free on any tarrif.

Are there any plans to release the high-end Nokia's on 3 later this year? I'm talking about the New E-Series phones (E61 & E70) and the N-Series with the 4GB HDD?

Also, any ideas on other new handsets for Q1 2006, as I'm due to upgrade in April and not really interested in going to another network, but I want a decent handset with Push email technology if possible, preferably Blackberry.

Im not sure but i think the situation is this. The Moto a1010 has been scrapped and the p990 is going to take its place so i would say yes. But i wouldnt expect to see it until at least May/June time. As for the Nokias im not sure. They are alwyas delaying theri phones. Look how long the n90 took? There doing the same with the n91 so i cant comment on the E series but im sure some of them have been earmarked.

those are both network specific phones and are the same thing i think...a "copy" of these devices could arrive on three but i doubt it will happen with 3 probably going for the p990 as their pda phone

I would think the w900, p990 and k610. Dont know about the w950 though. I know its 3g and has a 4 gig drive but it has no camera let alone 2 cameras for v calling.

Looks likea nice phone to be honest. New type of memory card which will probabaly be the norm now for SE for the next 2/4 or so years. 2MP camera. Ok so theres no autofocus but so what they wil still be better quality than nokia or samsumg phones. This phone is basically what the k608 was missing. Looking forward to this phone being released in uk. Three are sure to bring this one out.

Hi mate. Any news yet on the status of testin for w900/p990 yet. Testing ussually only lasts around 3 weeks so by now either three ahve decided to not release it or its being shipped now for release at the begining of march when Vodas exclusivity runs out. If im right though the w900i has already been released on three in Sweden?

PPC2003 is the old microsoft mobile OS, I think its a bit unlikely that its going to make an appearance on three since the current version is windows mobile 2005. Unless three are thinking of releasing an old phone that is.

If I had to speculate on a windows mobile based phone I'd probably go for the HTC universal (XDA Exec/MDA pro/Jasjar/Qtek 9000 as its variously known as). A bit chunky, but a hell of a phone/PDA combo. I'm basing this on the fact that it seems to be the only 3G windows mobile around with video calling, I'd really love something along the lines of the HTC Wizard, nowhere near the universal for power and no video calling, but much more pocket friendly.

E61 is defo being released as well as n80 (as we all know) its just a matter of time. A sneeky way to check whats coming is the 3 accessories site. They usually always have the up coming phones on there before they have it on the actual 3 handsets section. :cool:

if you are referring to the N80 yes it is white but i doubt very much that it is the version 3 are set to release. I have been told that is a very early picture of the N80 whilst it was still in development

Just spoken to a very nice lady in c/s.
She told me that you can video call 33341 - free - this shows all of the new handsets that are currently available on 3.
I'll be calling it at least once a day - in the hope that they'll get that darned N80 on there!!

Better of waiting for the n73 or n93. I doubt the latter will be on three but 73 should but then again I thought the same of the n71 following on from the n70 but that is still yet to arrive.

Now than LG have released a 2MP phone id expect the next one on 3 to include 2 oe maybe more megapixels.

There are some rumors of the k800 on three but they are just rumors.

Those dates/handsets are slighlty wrong. U900 should be U300, The E61 has been pushed back to Mon 19th; one of my sources has said it should be out "anyday now" so keep your eyes peeled.

I've just back from the two 3 stores in Manchester. One store said that the N80 was def coming on Monday. The other store 'within 2 weeks'. Why can't 3 just sort themselves out. My contract is up next month and if the N80 isn't in by Monday then I am leaving and going to sign up elsewhere. The choice of handsets on 3 is rubbish and leaves a lot to be desired. Still waiting for my E61 here. LIke JeffHeal, my subscription ended at the beginning of the year and have been waiting for an ideal phone/tarriff before changing.

The Tarriff I want is available but the phone is still in vapourland. Where is the E61? Noone can tell me.

Because the phone isn't out I have no idea if the Planet3 bits will be available. As it has no camera, I am curious to learn what else may have been stripped.

I'm hoping the 19th is the true date. That way I can have one on Tuesday and be a happier emailing bunny :-)

btw...some point earlier in this thread the Nokia 6233 was mentioned. As that was released to the UK this week, is that to make an appearance on 3? It would be good as a backup phone for my my E61 for those times I don't need to carry that one around.

Just sent an e-mail to 3 saying as N80 was available on other networks and my contract was running out was thinking of joining them or could I see when the N80 is available. Within 5 mins got a phone call from 3 saying the N80 was available and theyd put me through to their upgrade centre and I was like :) However they put me through I chose my new tariff then they told me they didnt have the N80 but if I rang up beginning of next month - so july then they should have it available

You should call back and navigate through to the bit 'Are you thinking of leaving 3?'. It's a different team and you may get a different answer about availability. While they cannot give acurate dates, they may be able to give an alternative answer or perhaps some clues. They seem to have more info when I called them.

I shall be giving them another call tomorrow re the release date of the 19th. If I had not know about the E61 I wouldn't be as frustrated about the release date as I now am. One week here and there is nothing but I'm just starting up in business on my own and would love this phone.

Dont just go for the n80 for the sake of not having any other choices around.

Just make sure the phone is fully working. The most commonj problem is the poor video problem which gets even worse at night. I dont know if the 3 branded ones will have this problem but so far pretty much every other person with on i have come across has this problem. There is supposed t be a new firmware update at the end of this month so that could be what is causing he delays as it could be that Nokia do not want to let any more batches of the old firmware version out.

am getting seriously peeved with 3 now. don't want to leave them really, as they have been generally pretty good - plus they've just boosted the signal near to me (which was previously a gripe - as limited signal at home)
My contract is up in just over a week - and I want a new phone (stamps foot!) and their current offerings are really quite poor.
I really don't want to have to wade through the huge amount of offers on other networks etc....but it looks like i'll need to start pulling me wellies on :(

Just been to the Nokia shop in Bath. They were not even aware that 3 were offering the N80 or E61 on their network.

I seriously am thinking of walking too. O2 have some decent offers that suit me presently. Like yourself I don't really want the hassle of moving networks but the lack of phones is really getting to me. The 3 shop outside of Bristol has most to offer but the phones are behind plastic holdings and they can't remove them to allow one to play and decide. Grrrr
