Surley with the recent deal between 3 and Sony Ericsson this model should be in threes plans for the future. Anyone heard any rumors?

In the last 24 hours i have been told from 3 and CPW that the SE W900 will be on three. I have not been given a date yet but i am told it wil be sometime around Feb/Mar time. Great news indeed.

w900 is already supported by three. anyway three Sweden supports it, but I would not be suprised if three Uk don´t support it yet, afterall the phone is made in sweden:p

I have no idea it was already out in Sweden. Then it will definatley come out in the UK barring a calamity. The reason its not beig released yet is beacsuse i think Voda have a 2 month exclusive on the model.

to say its out in sweden doesnt neccessarily mean its coming out here take the z800i for example but saying that the phone should be on three asked at a 3 point and they said it will be just after vodas exclusive deal runs out

Good news indeed. I might just have to take out an early upgrade on this baby if it comes out. I know the n70 and w900 both have 2MP cameras but the w900 has optical focus which makes the pictures look so much better.

It will be in March i would think. Vodas exclusivity runs out then so all the other networks will begin taking the phone on. Im sure the networks already have the phones in stick but they have to wait for the block to run out.

One thing thats a shame about this phone is that the camera lens isnt covered at the back like with the w800,k750 or p990

In Sweden you can buy an unlocked w900 and go to three's homepage and request settings for w900 to be sent to your handset.

3 Sweden is not happy about the battery performance and some other bugs. However, I think its also something to do with the fact it is a walkman phone and 3 wants to push their 3player so there is clash there. Just my 2 cents, if its true, I do not know.

I was offered this w900i from a website on voda or o2! After lengthy chat with this sales team they re-import them to the uk sim free, sell the public a phone for say £60-70 with a new sim and number, and a monthly contract similar to o2's, its parcelled up and when you get it, you have to go to sony ericsson site to download settings for it! According to my recent chat with Sony ericsson, a young lady told me, when you see the phone on their official se website on the e-shop tab... then its official that voda has had its 2 month "grip/deal" expiry... 3 are expecting it, o2 is expecting it, but why ,I wonder have the other "w" models been pushed foward also?

get it on voda,.. its a better service than three. but it surely wouldn't be on three, i had reason to believe that it was a permanent voda exclusive,.they definetly have it for the next couple f months. they've had it for 3 so i reckon may. if i find anything from work ill let you guys know.

o...I saw it on the CPW magazine ...from what I remember, N71 / N80 should be in April / May..

but from what I see, Sony Ericsson phones are more attractive than the others ^o^!

probably not...im guessing if ya want it that bad guy a sim free one or get a voda one unlock and debrand it. Probably because of the fact that it was a voda exclusive for so long and with the release of better phones networks prob dont see the point of launching it

Yes although you may want to get it debranded as well to remove the voda rubbish all over the menus. What do you mean by contract 3G sim card...are you talking about the "3" network or a 3G sim in general

u mean a "3" contact not 3G. 3G is a network standard like gsm and 3 is an operator and yes you can do that

does anyone know if it is possible to get settings from three as I have an unlocked w900i and everything else is working onit just need the wap settings or has anyone got them at moment and can let me know what they are, cs is like getting blood out of a stone, I have had nothing but trouble in the last two months since i changed to this network and don't know what else to do!!!!!

as 3 dont support the w900i there arent any settings for it. However you could try the settings for the Sony K608i.

thanks v much for all that shall try this and let you know, also i read on one of these threads somewhere on here that if you use your 3 sim in an unlocked phone the network block your sim after a few days so you can't use anymore, do you know if this is the case or not???

rubbish they will only block your phone if it doesnt run on 3G as long as you use a 3G phone they wont care. They only say this because they want you to buy content etc. try the settings and give us some feedback on what works/doesnt

They were wrong, with your settings, i am greatful that it work. However, i would like to get my w900i to use Messenger, Would you tell me the settings for w900i in order to get on to Messenger? I believe the settings should be in Menu > Messaging > Messenger > Settings

Do you mean MSN Messenger? If so i dont think its possible as the app requires a 3 certificate on the phone to work and if the phone doesnt have it it wont run. The W900 doesnt have this certificate. However you could try it by looking here:

If you are talking about the My Friends app in the messaging section then you will need to sign up to a third party server to get this to work. Im not sure of the names of the names of these servers i shall try and find out for you.
