I made the fatal mistake.. Id check for emails using my v800 while abroad in Spain.. Oh look they have 3G and its on vodafone, fantastic.. well that is until the bill gets in!

http://online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_BOS_MainContent&pageID=GM_0332

Gives the prices as £10.28 per MB - ouch, but didnt worry me as I was only checking for emails via my handset.

But reading the smallprint the following is the killer

³Billing increments are in 100KB steps with a minimum 200KB charge.

200kb minimum charge = £2. That means every time I hit send and receive even if nothing was there (about 0.05 kb still used to negotiate with servers), I got hit with £2. Net result is a HUGE bill as I checked 20 or so times (£40). Due to the fact these prices are disproportionate to everything else, I'm going to lodge a complaint with Ofcom, in the hope the operators like Voda are more honest with their subscribers

Hey. Try this. It worked in Paris. I was in a Hotel very expensive surfing. I was P*$sed off. When to Mac Donalds and to cut a long story I was surfing on Broadband speed for free. I dont know if it would work in Spain but in Paris it dose.

God Luck
