We are in the process of changing from Vodafone to Virgin, my partner works away (overseas and offshore) a lot, so makes sense not to be paying a monthly rental when he might not even get to use it some months. Anyway - we have contract with Vodafone until the 13th - Virgin say they will transfer the number on the 13th - we may get a couple of hours downtime on the day but nothing more. Since handing the code over to Virgin Vodafone have just cut him off - he is working away and now has no phone, I am unable to sort it out this end as they will not speak to me (despite my partner twice trying to give me authorisation to deal with his account) so he is trying to sort it out sitting on hold on a payphone.
What makes me really angry is that we are paying until the 13th - they will take our money up to and including that date - despite my partner being stuck away with no phone service what so ever. If you have ever worked away you will appreciate how much of a lifeline your mobile is.
