O2 active browsing???

Hello o2 staff i wonder if u can help me out, im interested in returning to o2 after an absymal time with 3 and i want to get the online 200 tariff. Does anyone know what this option does:


Active Bolton Group (Optional)
O2 Active Browsing - £4.00 per month

its amongst the extras section when ordering online.
Does this give u more data usage per month if so how much do u get for the £4 extra a month?

oh an do u know wen the nokia 6680 will be a free option instead of £69.99

I don't work for O2 but I do know the £4.00 bolt on gives you 5mb of browsing etc.

its for wap browsing on your handset only, for data you need a data plan, you can find them under the business section on the website

The service that allows full Internet access is called O2 Mobile Web, it costs £2.35 per Mb IIRC but you can buy data bundles to give you an inclusive allowance for a monthly fee and any usage over that allowance is charged at a lower per Mb rate. Definately worth it if you use lots of GPRS (although in that case you might want to look into Vodafone or Orange 3G if you live in a service area...)

The O2 Active service allows access to Wapsites and mobile websites but unfortunately doesn't allow access to ports other than ones used for HTTP traffic. The Mobile Web service does.

However, the active bolt on does seem to work with PAYG when picking up your O2 email using the phone as a modem along with a laptop.

Well im gona get the nokia 6680 wen its in stock again :rolleyes: and i want to browse the web not just wap sites so does that mean its no gd to me?

You really need the Mobile Web service for actual web browsing, that's if you want cookies and what not to work.

Wats the best tarrif to go for then i will pay up2 £35 a month and i would like a nokia 6680, i would also like to be able to surf the web abit but need atleast the online 100 tarrif.....
