Can anyone tell me, I am on my second 3 contract. I understand that the first 12 months I was tied to 3. But now I have renewed my contract and taken on a better phone (E1000) Does this mean that I am also tied to 3 for the next 12 months or can I change to another network. Can I reduce the contract to a lesser value and in order to do this, do I need to downgrade the phone? My reason for asking is that I feel somewhat conned. I wanted a better phone, which I got. But in order to do this I was told I had to Upgrade the plan I was on the Talk 45, Costing me £45 per month. This is times two because my wife also has the same phone. I do not need, nor use this ammount of time. Can someone help me? :( :confused:

If you have renewed your contract and upgraded then you're tied to 3 for another 12 months (minimum, unless they stated it was an 18 month contract).

Regarding downgrading, you may have to wait at least 3 months before downgrading (might be 6), then you can downgrade one "step" per month I believe, so you can't go right down to a say £20 package right away.

When you took the phone and renewed your contract did you ask them to lower your tariff? I'm sure you would have still got the E1000 for free on a lower price plan.

At the very least the first 3 months of your new contract will be half price.
