O2 will launch its latest own-brand handset this week, the XM.
The device has an emphasis on music – it comes with a built-in O2 music player and allows users to set downloaded music tracks as ringtones.
The XM (pictured right) will be free on contract and £199.99 on prepay.
The launch sees O2 add a new manufacturer, Celestica, to the roster of companies that have made handsets to its specifications, including HTC, Maxon and, most recently, BenQ.
Celestica is a massive electronics ‘original device manufacturer’, producing handsets for Sendo among others.
The device sports a one-megapixel camera and has removable memory for music downloads and video.
