Hi 3 Mole:
I just recently tried to port in to 3 from Orange and was given a transfer date of 20th June. It's now 27th and I still have problems. My number seems to have transferred over OK (in that if I dial my old Orange number, my new 3 phone rings), but 3's online services don't recognise the ported-in Orange number as now being a 3 subscriber number. So I can't access my online minutes remaining or do it by dialling 333. Customer service seem incapable of resolving the problem, so I am stuck.
I realise this might not be the sort of question you can help with, but I thought I would try anyway.
Cheers

3mole.
I tried today to upgrade to a Nokia 6680 as i can have an upgrade after 3 months if i pay the difference. This is not much as i am on VT2000. The upgrade team say the Nokia 6680 is not on the system for a 3 month upgrade. Any ideas when it would be made available for a 3 month upgrade as all the other phones are available?
Many thanks in advance

Im fed up with my e1000 as it has freezing issues its been sent for repair once and i booked it in for repair a second time begrudgingly an they neva picked it up! I dont want it repaired anyway i want a different fone i.e the 6680 (the only fone which is actually worth upgrading too) but they wouldnt allow it as an upgrade even thou iv had probs wiv my current fone. Is there anyway that i can change to this fone hopefully it will solve my call connection issues i have too an make using three a slightly more pleasant experience

I did ask anyone who wanted to know more to email me of which a few did.
I would have passed on what i knew to you as well if you had read the other threads and bothered to contact me.

A slightly different topic. My father has a three phone which I believe is an LG 8120 which still has three months to go until the end of the contract. However the microphone on the phone is broken and only transmits audio once in a blue moon. What should the next course of action be?
If he is calling three customer services, can he do it from a landline ? - due to the fact that they wouldn't hear him if he went through his phone.

hi squawk, he can certainly call cs from a landline 08707 330333 or email customer.services*3mail.com. If its an 8120 he will get a new handset.Dont settle for anything less

Hi 3Mole, My girlfriend has just signed up to 3's talk and text 700. She signed up to the video pack add on when she ordered the phone. Although the add on clearly states it includes Sky Sports video downloads there is no + sign to say they are included in the add on. The + sign appears next to stuff in news, comedy etc but not in the Sky Sports section. She phoned CS and they said Sky Sports should definatly be included and she would not be charged but I'm a bit worried that she'll end up getting charged.

I have just signed up for three contracts with phones4u - Talk & Text 600 - 18 Month £270 Cashback, 6 months half price line rental of £15 then upto £30/month.
I understand that after 6 months the contracts can be reduced from £30/month to £15/month. If this is the case I have gained all the free minutes and 3-Motorola V975 phones for nothing? How can this be?

This was released on 3 today. The LG 8180 is now available too.
This is exactly the same as the 8120 but with a black front.
I must say tho its battery life is superb and a couple of colour screens plus far better software.
This fone is great if u liked the functionality of the 8120 but minus the problems.
The K608i......i reserve judgement...lets wait and see...i have my doubts

After asking a few good sources the LG U8180 wont be available in store , think its an option through direct sales,CS and upgrades.
Its basically a LGu8138 but with tweaked software.
SE K608i is indeed available now as is the LG U8330 which is an 8120 with improved software , 262k colour screen but monochrome exterior screen.

Hi! I bought a Nokia 7600, on 3 pay, and it has been replaced 2 times (I am on my 3rd) and repaired 9 times. 3 has finally aggreed to send me a new phone, and do a doorstep exchange, but will not let me change to a different handset. Do 3 still have new nokia 7600's? I really do not know what to do, as I bought the handset in November last year, and it has never worked properly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2 questions:
1) There's a post appeared on the DigitalSpy forum (and a word for word post on here too) that Three will be providing internet access from the 1st of September to all us contract customers, for £2.50 per 5 meg. Is this true?
2) My A1000 seems to have a problem keeping the right time and occasionally resets too and I would like it fixing. The only problem is that I have lost the joystick thumb top (joystick still there, top gone) and the two top buttons have rubbed clear, will these mean Three wouldn't help fix it as it looks a little badly treated?
Thanks

This new wireless web add on. Can I use ftp on it?
Also, I have an A1000 and currently send e-mails from my mac powerbook via bluetooth. I can only e-mail out on smtp.three.co.uk and can not receive. I can not access my pop3 box. I have a modem script for the A1000 so it acts putly as a modem.
Could I continue to use this set up with the wireless web?

Si, Full data access is a hot potato-but it will happen quite soon
That was in jan 2005.
We still do not have FULL access. Most of us don't care that the website is "optimised for the best user experience". I want to be able to go on the forums, check my mail using my phones built in browser and go to specific websites.
Why do 3 not open the e-mail port? Why do I have to use the 3mail account for no particular reason (and it doesn't work btw, it's often at least a day behind, which is useless for my needs)?
Sorry that this is a rant, but having come from 02, i just don't understand the blocking of almost all sites!
shouldn't it be the other way around, so that you block the sites that you want to block, rather than us having to politely ask for access to a site (which then never happens).
3's policy on the internet is so out of date as to be laughable. The whole point of a 3g phone is fast data access. What's the point of that if you can't get access to the data you want?
Obviously you do not care about those that use your phones in this way, and in doing so, lose a small, but tech savvy and high spending group in the process.
Nothing I say here will of course change anything, as 3's position was perfectly communicated to us in the response to the poll.
In the new era of open, fast access to internet on a multitude of devices, 3 will fail miserably unless it listens to its early adopters... the people who do more than make calls and send text messages.
I'll be cheering as I wave goodbye in November, and I'll never be coming back.

Ok.. being angry is one thing but not listening to what advice is being offered is another. I would re-read some the other posts on the forum and learn from it. I have had a similar experience however I found that the CS where more than accomodating when it got down the bones of it.
I had both a casual user and a mobile web add ons active. I terminated the mobile web only to find that the casual user was not active. I think quite a few people whom subscribed to this add-on where in the same posistion but since then the issue has been resolved and are now working properly.
Also if you had spoken to a tech support advisor or even e-mailed three they would tell you that there are a few ports open at the moment with view to open others in the future.
I would also advise you to subscribe to the tps online (http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/) service as this will dramatically cut the amount of nusence calls. Ie companies selling mob phone contracts. As this is the mostly likely cause of your mis-givings.
I would also ask you have you ever lied before to further yourself or protect something/one? Lies are an unforunate fact of our existense. Something that we all know too well.
Sermon over...

I called 3 customer services who told me i could upgrade on 4th march? does anyone know how much 3 would charge me if i upgraded now? thanks!

You can now if you have migrated to Orange as their roaming partner.

Hi 3mole
ive just joined 3 on the DT675 tarrif and a free lg u400. i was under the impression that on an 18 month contract i could upgrade after the 17th month, but have read some things about people upgrading after 3 months for a fee, etc? am i hearing correctly? how does the upgrade proccess work? the 3 website only details an upgrade after 17 months.
Many thanks

Try the simple things first
Take battery out
Put battery back in
Usually works a treat for phones that wont turn off :)

Thats not normal for 3 wanting to charge for repair. The only reason for that would generally be damage to the phone

Can you leave due to them switching from O2 to Orange as there wasn't a specific company mentioned on the contract?
Let us know how you get on with that.

If you have been migrated to Orange when roaming and cant get a decent signal you can close account without penalty as you no longer get the service you signed up for.trust me:)
If you want to go down the road of the 25.00 charge thingy then state that they have changed the terms and conditions of your contract.

Hello 3Mole...hope you can help.
Recently I went to a Nokia centre and asked for the latest firmware on my 6280.
This appeared to work OK except that now when I try to install an application the handset returns with an error message that there are "no certficates on phone or SIM". This even when downloading directly from the 3 site. What needs to be done?
Thanks!
Mike.
I have same issue with planet3... getting a 906 error when installing stuff.
Once your certs have gone, you'll not be able to get them back.
Crazy that a factory reset of phone don't restore them either.

The "certs" are built into the 3 firmware!
Once you flash the phone with generic firmware then that's it, nothing you can do now!
