FAQ About Three
Here is a small amount of information about Three to get you started.
Can I access the world wide web on Three UK?
Yes, you can. Three have recently made a new deal with Yahoo to allow open internet access. You can buy various data packages or you can roam the internet for free on certain phones and packages.
How much 3G coverage do Three UK Have?
At this moment in time, Three UK Claim to have 82% and expanding. Please look for a coverage checker in your area.
What shall I do if my Three handset Breaks?
You could either take it to your local Threepoint (in Superdrug) or your local Three store. You could also take it to your local dealer. If this fails then ring Threes customer service on 333 from you handset or 08707 330 333 from a landline.
Can I use my Three phone abroad?
Yes, but first you have to activate international roaming. To do this Please call Customer services on 08707 330 333 from a landline or 333 from your Three handset. But be warned. Three may ask you for a deposit and it could be anywhere up to £250! Also threepay phones only work with other Threes abroad (contact has roaming agreements so it is different for contact) EG a Three UK phone will only work with Three Italy.
Does it cost more to use 2.5G (o2) on Three?
When Threes 3G coverage drops, you will automatically go onto o2’s 2.5G or 2G network. You do not have to pay extra for using this. You minutes will just come out of your allowance like usual. If you have run out of your allowed minutes, then it will cost a little extra.
Will My Three sim work in a non Three phone?
No, it won’t. It will work for a few days and then Three will block it, send you a warning to check the terms and conditions and then send you a new sim card. This is the same regardless of whether your phone is unlocked or not.
My calls keep dropping or they don’t connect, why?
This is because you are trying to make or are in the middle of a all when the signal changes. As Three UK use o2 as a 2.5/2G backup, the call will have to drop or not connect to switch over to o2. This also happens when switching back from 2.5G to 3G.
