hello,

i'm on a 18 month contract with t-mobile, i have half-price line rental for 6 months and free 200 texts for 6 months as well, the half-price line rental is from t-mobile and finishes on june 20th as do the texts, my 6 months will be up on the 20th june, can i lower my tariff then or do i have to stay on it for 11 months?

thanks

Unfortunately you wont be able to downgrade your price plan until month number 12

Also if you dont want the text bundle after the promo ends you need to cancel them otherwise they will start charging £10 per month for them

oh, i wanted to downgrade the tariff after 6 months to the lowest off-peak tariff, i'm going to cancel the text bundle anyway.

are there any other differences between the 12 month and 18 month contract?

thanks for your help, appreciate it.

Hi,

Thank you for the offer. I recently ended a 12 month contract with T-mobile, which was my first and probably last experience with the company because coverage was non existent where I live (n.e. london) and patchy elsewhere.

However, an extremely good cs person convinced me that I should try you again & I could have amazing incentives. (In the event this only relates to £60 for 6 months free instant email.) But the small print leads to my query: How can your company possibly charge 49p per minute for cs calls on certain contracts?

T-mobile for years never charged for cs calls, due to the Launch of "My T-mobile" the online service we have introduced self serve any contract taken thru direct sales or web sales calls will be charged 50p per min upto £5 this includes the IVR, The benefits are your line rental will always be cheaper than the normal mrc usually £3 per month and you are able to manage your account via My T-mobile service, You get access to the same account a csa gets access too, so technically if it works right you should never have to speak to cs again, also you can dial 08454125000 or use a friends phone to contact us if you have to

Yes if you want to upgrade its month 17 rather than month 11 but no other differences

Have Blackberry handsets to run my business. Had been experiencing lots of dropped calls so had to move to another provider - T-mobile agreed to let us move and keep handsets (after many handset changes & call drop incident logs).

PAC procedure was put in motion and were told unlock codes would be sent within 2 or 3 day. Porting is happening today and I have just discovered that we may not get subsidy pins for 28 days.

Have spoken to RIM they said that T-Mobile have the facility and means to get subsidy pins via a direct call to them.

Why!

The only reason we are leaving T-mobile is because we have to. The dropped calls are severly affecting our business. Why are T-mobile being so difficult?

may need a new SIM card - I am assuming you have a blue one??? well a new SIM will solve the problem, but there is a £10 charge and you will loose your phone book. Also you old SIM will be suspended until you activate your new one, which means you may be without service for 24-48 hours

I have an LGu8150 with a T-Mobile sim. Would like to recieve video clips and Photos of my baby grandson but unable to do. Had MMS activated to no avail. all I recieve is a text message with a Pin allowing me to view a still photo, telling me to view on my computer. I am not able to save these, and can only view them once. Is there some way to overcome this problem or is my phone too old?

Hi there

The LG handset you have is not t-mobile supportted, your phone requires a network configuration profile for mms which will allow it to send and recieve picture messages or video messages, the handset will be configured to whatever network it orginally came from, phone tmobile cs and ask them for generic settings for mms, it will come down to yourself to figure out where the settings go. We have no reference for that particular handset.

Can you help me with this question, please.

I am one among the 30 teens from usa going to scotland for Edinburgh's festival this summer. We will be in uk for 2 weeks.

I have triband unlock cell phones and looking to buy uk sim card from
the provider who has the best rate for calling local & back to usa.

Since all the kids do not have the same provider, I am looking for the provider
whohas the cheapest for calling local to any network.

For "pay as you go plan" with uk sim card - Everyone Plan

1. all incoming calls are free
2. local call to everyone is 15p/minute
3. sms is 10p

I read about buying airtime bundle to call back home (USA), where
you can get 40 minutes for 2 uk dollar.
question is: can I buy this minute without buying international option.

Since I have to have the phone number before I leave for uk,
I have to buy the uk sim card in usa. Do you have any suggestion
as the best place on web to buy the tmobile uk simcard?

thank for you help

hi
i am on relax 200 (18) contract.
i am using motorola a1000 phone for this t-mobile sim card. of course my motorola a1000 is totally unlocked and firmware upgraded to support any kind of network. (all the 3 network components have been totally removed).

my question: if i add webnwalk service to my relax 200 contract, can i use web'n'walk service on motorola a1000 handset? (cos i spoke to sales person in t-mobile shop and i was told i need to have webnwalk compatible handset for it which has webnwalk logo/shortcut on the screen).

what i believe is that this logo/shortcut on screen simply is an application shortcut which can be created on motorola a1000 screen. all i need to know is the settings to access webnwalk.

i have successfully accessed internet on this same phone using this very sim card with t-mobile gprs settings, but dont know if these settings will work with webnwalk. or may be even if i get webnwalk and still use these gprs settings, i may end up paying for gprs on top of my 7.50/month for webnwalk.

second question: is this webnwalk a contract or can i just try it for a month and then remove it from my existing relax 200 contract if i dont like it.

thanks

if you are using a tmobile sim you can only use the tmobile network unless you are roaming in a foreign country

web nWalk is just a brand name for the unlimited data package the settings for connecting to web n walk are the exact same as connecting to gprs the only difference is the home page address which is www.t-mobile-favourites.co.uk. What the sales person told you was nonsense. As i said Web nWalk is just a name for unlimited gprs, it still connects the same way it still uses the same access point general.t-mobile.uk, it is simply just a brand name for tmobiles data package. You are only required to have it for a min of 1 month if you added it on to your current package.

A couple of Web 'n' Walk pro questions:-

1) Does the Web 'n' Walk Pro (with laptop data card) require 3G, or will it fall back to GPRS, when out of 3G coverage.

2) The terms and conditions state that messaging (alongside VOIP) are prohibited. What exactly do they mean by "messaging" here? Any of the following could be considered messaging

a) Instant messaging such as MSN Messenger, ICQ, AOL-IM, IRC & other chat.
b) Electronic messages (e.g. email, newsgroup posts).
c) Sending of any IP packet (which can be referred to as a message).
d) Something else.

Thanks

Yes it will fall back between hsdpa/umts to gors.

Dont worry about using voip or IM as the connection is through a General access point so no info is collated to what you use. It is basicaly a legal script to stop you using a mass amount of data.

Hi, can somebody explain in laymans what hsdpa/umts is.

i know one is faster, but what i dont understand is this.

if i get normal web n walk, is this hsdpa enabled or do I have to get another addon to the package.

Is this something that I have to call up Customer Services to get it enabled ?

Thanks, Symon

I wanted to double check this anyway, so I went into a t-mobile shop today. After ringing up head office or whoever, they told me that it refers to text/picture messaging...i.e. if you put the SIM card in a phone and send messages you will be charged for them! In which case, I think I'll buy one.

Hmm, now they've confused me. The reply to an email I sent a while back (which I only read today owing to having been off work for the last week) was:-

Good afternoon xxxxx

The term 'messaging' refers to the use of the MSN messenger application being excluded under the terms and conditions. This would not include accessing it via the web browser i.e. if a you type in a web address to use the service via internet explorer e.g. chatrooms.

So basically, this is contradicting what I was told in the shop (which said there were no restrictions on MSN Messenger and the like).

Goddamnit, can't I have a straight, consistent answer; Are there restrictions on usage or not?!?

As I said don’t worry about using skype, msn yahoo chat, I use skype pocket on the vario 2. It all uses the same no verified general access point. The term and conditions are only there for legal reason to stop companies abusing the connection, i.e. setting up there on third party messaging software for the handset which will constantly stay connected.

just posted this in it's own thread, but perhaps you can provide the answers i need BigYin!

Hello Forum!

I've recently got hold of a Palm Treo 750v, however I'm having a pretty hard time getting it to work with either GPRS or 3G. I'm hoping someone on this forum may hold the answers!

I'm using Windows Mobile Version 5 with a Virgin Mobile SIM, which has worked on GPRS networks in the past. The main problem is, I don't seem to be able to enter all the info Virgin are giving me for the GPRS settings!

I appreciate this is a T-Mobile forum, but seeing as Virgin piggy-backs on T-Mob i figured you guys may be able to help!

these are the settings virgin are giving me:

GPRS

Name: Virgin GPRS
I.P. Address: 193.030.166.003
Service Type: WAP
Port1: 9201 ‐or‐ default
Username: user
Line1: ISDN
Password: blank
Homepage: http://www.virgin.com/mobile/wap/
GPRS APN (Access Point): goto.virginmobile.uk

Please help, this is doing my head in!!!

All the best!

Hi, ive just bought a Palm Treo 750v. I've put my T-Mobile SIM in and that all works fine. T-mobile customer services have told me that Web N Walk is activated on my account and will work, but the settings they've given me to put in Treo aren't right. I'm having delays getting any more info out of them, so do you know what I need to put in where in the settings ? I'd be really grateful for any help you may be able to give.

I bought a w810 on tmobile (uk) I wanted to unlock and debrand it. When I checked the locks all were open except ESL one... I was told debranding should help.
I've downloaded SETOOL2lite v1.8, and opened it, then I chose W810 as phone type,
then for the files column, I added main firmware first (W810_R4DB005_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED50), then FS second (W810_R4DB005_FS_EUROPE_5_RED50)
I then put the .zip file (Custom Pack CDA102494_4_R3A_Generic_Trade_United_Kingdom) into the MISC Files. then pressed flash...

all working fine and unbranded... :)

still got the esl lock so I'm stuck with tmobile till I find out how to remove the esl lock. :( can anyone advise how to remove this please?

Hi chaps! Just bought mda vario. Can I get on the internet to check something while I got caller on phone? Ifso how? help appreciated.

The original vario cannot access the internet or recieve picture messages while on a phone call, if you want to browse the internet while on a call you must have the wifi activated and connected to an acess point.

As the handset is GSM only, it will never be able to recieve a picture message whilst on a phone call.

Hope this helps

I have a TomTom One Europe with a Nokia E61. When trying to access the Traffic updates, it will connect once or twice and then drop out. The only way to re-start is to remove the battery and re-set phone. The unit works fine with the same phone on the O2 network. T-mobile have sent new data settings, but still the same results. TomTom have re-set my account and say all is ok from their end. I have checked with the TomTom user forums and it seems that there are many others who have the same problem with T-Mobile web & walk pro.

Hi,

I have just been trying to upgrade the system on my T Mobile Vario 2...Windows 5.0 to Windows 6.0 Mobile.

Everything seemed to be going fine, but I then lost sync with my pc before completion, the screen on my Vario is now showing the 3 colour bands only,
red green and blue, I have attempted to do both soft and hard resets, but
without success. I have removed the battery for short and long periods, but
I still have the same screen.

I have attempted to sync my Vario with the pc, but without success.

I would very much appreciate any help on this.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have 11 months left on an 18month flex contract but I have been transfered to Australia with my company. I was told the phone wont work but I will still have to pay the rest of the contract or pay £300 to terminate it early. I know the Tmobile in the USA will terminate if you move out of the service area so why dont Tmobile in the UK?

Thanks,

Russ

AdamTMobL&R
17-06-2008, 10:15 PM
They wont because you signed up for 18 months, if you move obviously its your decision and we can't predict the future. You would be expected to fulfill the contract you agreed to. If you are after month 11 you can move to a lower plan and let it run. However you'd still be charged the termination fee based on the plan you took out the deal on if you wanted to pay it up minus 4% upto a max of £160.

I've just upgraded my phone and I didn't realise that part of this agreement is that it renews your contract, I wasn't aware of and wasn't asked to sign anything when I selected my upgrade through the website.

This now puts me just into my second 18 month contract with t-mobile. Can I leave at anytime now or do I now have to wait till my new 18 month contract expires?

Thanks

Unless you are in your period of grace which I believe is 7 days from receipt of the phone (may be 14 days but you would need to check this with c/s) as you ordered via the web. You are comitted to a new 18 month contract.

This is an odd problem as when I was a PAYG One2One customer with my old trusty Ericsson S868 (they don't make 'em like that anymore) the network display in standby changed to T-mobile when they rebranded although if I browsed the preferred networks list it still showed One2One

Ok thanks. Well I was looking over me details online and although it mentions my new contact date on my details it still has a tick box selected against an 18 month upgrade flag on the 28/8/2008 what is this and what does it mean

22-08-2008, 06:18 PM
If the phone is still displaying one2one, you've got an old sim card and it's hard-coded on to it. Only cure is a new sim card. If you ring CS they might send one out, old sim cards don't have as much space on them, or they might not, i'm not sure. If they do send one out you'll lose your phone until the new sim arrives.

The lack of space can cause certain network messages (using 222 to provision voicemail for example (might have to use the service a few times)) to give an error on your phone.

Can anybody help me regarding Web n walk usb modem connection settings..
To cut a long story short, i can not get a decent connection speed, currently showing 53.6 kbps..
T mobile tech support seem to keep fobbing me off, and as im paying 34.99 a month for their service, you could say im getting a little peeved...
I have reinstalled the software that came with the usb modem but still the same slow connection speeds..
It seems to me like its not connecting to 3g, just connecting to gprs, but for the life of me can i find anywhere to change the settings...
The usb manager says i have a decent signal and t mobile says my area has a strong signal..
Apart from sitting on my roof and holding my dongle aloft, im at a dead end, so any help on where im going wrong would be fantastic
Thanks
