How can I unlock this phone? Can I use the usb cable to unlock it?

You can get your software version by going to handset information. Settings, then no2 handset, then no 5 handset information. Far easier!!!

v105 cannot be unlocked.
other versions can be unlocked by local mobile shops for around a tenner. there are no codes to unlock this phone, u need a cable.

get a rs232 data cable and use the link above to unlock it (you need s/ware ver 1.01 to unlock as it won't do 1.02 and above as yet)
i have done several 8110's and a few 8120's

You will need to take to a local unlocking shop.

You will not be able to do it yourself sorry!!

I have a LG U8120 handset (purchased recently with 3 network) with version 105 software and I DID have my handset unlocked at my local market. I now use it with another two networks quite successfully.

I know I can unlock these phones, they have to be flashed first so please don't even look at websites that offer remote unlocking. The phone has to be in the possession of the unlocker.

It seems to me the fone was not unlocked properly, once unlocked it should tune into any signal (network).

i'm not sure if it's a firmware upgrade it's size 58MB, but i tried to use it but i dont even know where to use it lol, i pluged the USB cable to my pc but it didnt do anything.

U cannot do this by yourself, you need the correct software which isn't cheap and you need a com cable for the fone. The fone needs a full flash to enable it to be unlocked.

I can do this as I offer a postal unlocking service.

If anyone wants to make me an offer for the software to unlock LG's feel free, I can easily put it on a disk or make it available to download via my own website www fonestuff org

I called my phone company (3 in Australia) and cos I've had my phone for over a year, I guess their policy is I own it 1005 and therefore have the right to go to a new phone company if i wish to. So the lady told me what buttons to press over the phone... And now it's unlocked and I'm loving it!

Will, if you want it unlocked properly, ie, all 3 locks taken off, send me an email, including the cost of you sending your fone to me, it will be less than a tenner. If you post your fone to me, it should cost no more than £1.35 via recorded, include a fiver and I will unlock it and send it back (it will cost me £1.35 to post it back, meaning I only earn £3.65 from doing this). Send an email to forums @ fonestuff . org (seperated in case the moderators take it off). And we'll take it from there.

U cannot unlock these fones via code method. It has to be done via cable. I can do this via postal service. Post a reply if u are interested.

I suspect you are going to have to take it to a manufacturer to upgrade that firmware

I have LG8120 and i tried to get it unlocked but it didntt worked. I have the serial cable for LG and the software for unlocking it with the boot file in it. i have tried many times but the progra mremain until time out at ignition step. When i click Unlock the is switched on by the program but nothing else happen. The phone was used in 3 network Italy.

what you have to do to reset yer fone is this type into your phone 277634#*# and select factory reset then elect yes but you will lose everythin' on yer fone so get ready to send a lot of multimedia and scribble your contacts down.
