Hi ALL,

I have recently purchased a Z1010. It arrived last saturday and was working great with my O2 SIM. But on sunday night it seemed to develop a problem. A icon appeared in the top right corner next to the bars icon a handset facing down with a red line through it. Since that night i've been unable to make/receive calls or txt msg's. I got in contact with the guys that sold it me who have been excellant and gave me all the help i needed to reflash the phone. But we have now used SETOOLS, Total, And another one. And have flashed the phone about 8-9 times with differant files. But upto now everything has failed to solve the problem. My supplier has offered me 2 options to return the phone to them and they will try and fix it if possible and return it to me, or refund me. Or to provide me with a new one a BLUE version ??, I have the Silver version ATM.

What do you guys think that the problem is and is there a way to fix it. And if not which option do you guys recommend.

Yours

Jason

Hi

It is actually something built into the phone where it will try to lock onto 3G signals before going to 2G signal, even if u are using a 2G simcard. It seems like 02 has started to activate their 3g in your area and the simcard is not activated yet to log on it. The only thing for u to do now is to get a 3g capable USIM.

Thanks Bedok for that info. I'm just waiting for O2 to get back to me over this USIM thing, As i belive i might not have one of them although i could but i'm not 100% sure. But again Thank You. I'll keep everyone updated :)

Well i managed tgo get a 3G Sim (USIM) and now it has been working for almost 2 months now, although i wouldn't say without it's problems. You know the usual hanging, crashing, not sending me calls and txt msg's. But those problems have mainly been solved by a reboot.

The only thing i haven't done is setup my phone to use the O2 Acrive settings like the GPRS stuff and Media Messaging and stuff. As last time i did this it screwed the phone completly to the point of not being able to accept or make calls or txt msg's. Granted that this was on my old SIM card.

Do you guys think it would be safe now to install the O2 Active settings so i can take advantage of the 3G capabilities of the phone ??.
