Are you sure the datacard isn't switching because you're in an area of variable 3G signal strength? If you're in strong 3G signal and the card is still switching you down, contact Vodafone. Trusted Reviews loved the Voda 3G datacard, and they're pretty comprehensive, so it's possible that your issue is isolated.
Unfortunately, with regard to cost, there's no guarantee that they will. Even if they did for new users there's no guarantee they would for existing ones. The price you've signed up with is what you'll have to sleep with for the length of your contract ;)

I have exactly the same problem with my 3g card constant disconnections about 60 times a day, sometimes it lasts for an hour sometimes 2 minutes,it becomes very slow, according to the "bars" at the bottom of the page i have good reception.
Unfortunatly i have had to go to OFCOM with this problem and OTELO tomorrow because VODAFONE are not answering my e mails and their call backs did not happen.........dismal service.....and the 3g isnt even heavy enough to make a good paperwheight!!!!

Hi!
You have all my attention. Just saw your post now and would really like to help. However I just need some information from you on the following:
1.Locations you use the card.(Preferably postcodes)
2.What card is it? (please look at the bottom and list the serial/model number)
3.What software you are using - version?(go to help and about on the software)
4.The version of the firmware on the card(go to tools and diagnostics on the dashboard software - post the revision number you see there)
5.Contract or Prepay?
6.Operating System you are using and the Service Pack version.
7. Laptop Model?
It is unfortunate that you had to complain to the authorities about this:dead: but I suppose the important thing is that you get this problem fixed ASAP.
Hope I can be off real assistance.
Kind Regards

I have a Mobile Connect data card and use it with a PAYG SIM. I can't get 3G at home, but have connected via 3G in other places (eg: London). I didn't see much difference in data rates, to be honest - in fact I think the upload speed is the same. Connecting via GPRS always takes longer.
I don't have a 3G handset, so using a phone as a modem wasn't an option.
Chris.

Thier card's are incredibly slow. But make sure that any wireless card installed in the laptop is disabled when using the 3g card. Also force 3g connection rather than GPRS (you're paying the same for it!)
