Today i went to unlock an LG8110 and just before the bloke unlocked it for me he warned me that altho you can receive picture messages, you cannot send any from an unlocked handset! is this man tru?
I hope to use the fone on O2!
Cheers!

so did you go ahead with the unlocking? if yes why don't you try sending a picture message to your mates then?

yeah that's true. it would be a complete waste of money in that case. i think i have a few friends who own the lg but not so sure if any had their phones unlocked. i'll ask around & get back to you soon. can't promise anything though.

lol i dont hate Three. its actually coz my friend on O2, who im flogging the fone to, wants to be able to send MMS. so it needs to work!
I wonder if this is because it's a 2/2.5g sim card. Perhaps an o2 3g sim card may work. I have read in this forum about other phones being unlocked but the mms apps don't work without the original 3g usim card :(

sorry bleubean none of my friends had their lg phones unlocked. so i guess you have to wait till the others have the answers to your questions or 'you can ask around' if you know what i mean by asking around.

no problems mate! we are all here trying to help each other... :)
have an unlocked LGu8120, took a while to get all the settings. Put in pay and go sim ( set up for pay and go use) phoned o2 and got them to upgrade use of sim with multimedia use. Phone nows sends and receives pics, multimedia, etc... don't get too carried away, remember the size limit is 300kb max :D
