Searched but no luck.
Could some nice friendly expert give me a step by step for setting up a 6630 as a modem via a bluetooth dongle :) :D :o

Hi :)
It should be as simple as:
Pair the 6630 with the computer hosting the Bluetooth dongle according to the manufacturers instructions.
Pairing should make available to you all of the services on the mobile phone that you can exploit. In this case, that's the Bluetooth Modem.
It should then be as simple as creating a new dial-up network connection on your computer to use the Bluetooth Modem. Usually, dialing *99# is all the information you need.
Full information should be available here under "Get connected":

Hi - let us know how you get on - it's real easy to set up but I'd be interested in the performance you see.
My 6630->Laptop connection is pretty good and fast (although there is a hell of a lot of latency) but my 6630->PDA connection is very slow.
Time to load news.bbc.co.uk is a good benchmark.
Orange are having problems with 6630->PDA also so would be interested what performance you see.
ta :)

Thanks for the help, but how can you says 'it's real easy', I cannot for the life of me work it out!
I pair the devices and then the whole thing grinds, what bleedin settings do you use?
It asks for a shed load of things that bear no resemblance whatsoever to what I'm trying to do.
Do I need extra software or will XP's own connections do?
When I say step-by-step thats what I need lol.
At the moment I've got buy ingredients-cook-meals prepared, its dead easy..hmmmmm.

Don't have my laptop with so I'll try and explain this from memory - sorry if I miss a bit
First of all install Nokia software/bluetooth software (if not already there).
Find your phone/pair it - allow XP to search for services (so it should find out that the phone is a BT modem).
Then...
Network Connections->New Connection
In the Wizard select
"Connect To The Internet"
"Setup My Connection Manually"
"Connect Using A Dial Up Modem"
Give it a name, "orange" for example - this is for your use only
Phone Number *99#
User name = user (or anything you like)
Password = password (or anything you like)
Job done.
If I double click on "orange" in my network connections window then the PC has a think, realises that the only dial up modem service it knows about is the 6630 and you should see the BT connection be made on the 6630 (brackets appear around the BT symbol).
Then it will dial *99# and you should see the connection icon appear at the bottom right of your XP taskbar.
I think you can use the properties option (right click) on the "orange" connection icon in Network Connections if you want to modify the baud rate etc - can't remember for sure.
Only real annoyance is that when I'm connected to my wireless network XP still occasionally tries to connect via my 6630 dial up which confuses explorer etc - but as it's so quick to set up I usually just delete the connection when not using it. Well I did - I'm taking my 6630 back today :(
Best of luck - sure people will be along in a mo to correct any gaps/mistakes I've left.

Hi :)
Call 156 (Data Support) and they'll guide you through every step of the process.
Use *99***3# instead of *99#, I've found it gives a connection with much less lag and much more throughput!
Ensure the port speeds are set to the maximum possible - there's no point having 3G if the settings on your computer are going to cause a bottleneck.
Great post though, a_richardson99 - very helpful.

Thnks for that one really helpful ,sorry haven't posted sooner but for some reason this forum only works in work?
Just cannot post from home.
The problem seems to be that the BT just doesn't see a modem on the phone, using a monkey dongle, no amount of driver upgrade will do it, going to try using the USB, but you have cleared up the main problems of 'connections' on XP, thnks :)
Will report, but to be honest I'm almost at the point of giving the 6630 back, overall it's a bit cr@p, bugged, incompatible. boring looks, slow, 3G/GPRS handover unusable, every goddamtime I put something on the totally unpurchasable dv-rsmmc the web browser fails!!!!! not impressed at all :(
